I do not "miss" it really.  Yes I look better with a bit of blush and lip....but, no one sees my face now so why wear it? In a way, not being dependent on makeup is rather freeing and, I now know I am good to go somewhere makeup free. Before  masks and Covid I was not able to face the world without SOME makeup.

Since I"m fighting severe sciatica

Bless your heart!  I'm all to familiar with that pain Smiley Sad  One word...Neurontin/Gabapentin.

I've  purchased more makeup since COVID than I think I have in 10 years!  What's up with that?? LOL  Eyeshadow palettes out the wazoo!  I thought I was finished buying e/s palettes since I have more than I can use in 3 lifetimes...then I saw the Viseart Violette palette Smiley Surprised  Huda New Nudes, Too Faced Born This Way Natural Nudes and adding the Viseart Violette would be all I ever needed in eyeshadow (till next year)

@monicakm - You ordered some nice palettes! I ordered the bareMinerals "Joyful" palette. Mally was on with a shadow stick TSV in May. Even though I like "old" Mally's shadow sticks better, I ordered all three of the sets! I've relied on them a lot. Have fun playing and let us know if you come up with some fun combinations. I can always use those for my outside speaking!

Thanks too for the advice on sciatica. I started with it in April and went through a course of PT that seemed to help. About two weeks ago it came back worse than before. I have an appointment with a pain specialist right after Christmas. Right now I don't know what it's like to be without pain in my thigh and leg.  Smiley Frustrated

Smiley Sad  I think I'll make an appt for a shingles vaccination!

@monicakm   Yes, do.  It is a wonderful vaccination.  Quite expensive.  I had the first one which did no good for me.  I have had the second one now because shingles is not a one-time thing.  In immunocompromised people, there can be re-runs.

@monicakm   All soy candles burn soot free. Many companies have changed over to soy because of the pollutuion.

I still wear makeup even if I'm not going out....I still occasionally look at myself in the mirror and I like to feel good about myself.  Having makeup on makes me look better than without and as a result makes me feel better .  I don't use a heavy hand and my skin looks great.

Re: I Miss Makeup

[ Edited ]

I have spent so much of my effort on skincare, makeup for me is just brows, blush and tinted lip balm. Those that still feel better in full makeup, do it. There are so many degrees of how much makeup makes you feel your best...different comfort levels and various ocassions.

I have noticed that when I wear my longer hair curly, it becomes the focus, takes center stage, and I need less makeup. When my hair is blown out, I do need more attention on my face. I don't mind adding a bit more.

I know.  I don't see the point in it really right now!  I am a big lipstick and lip gloss girl!  Every day I would wear a different color or formula!  Now, I just wear clear gloss.  If I do go out, which is rare, with the mask, I get so hot, I just don't want to wear any makeup which I feel could cause my skin to have more issues than it already does!  I bought a bunch of new things recently from LG when she was having a big 50% sale, free gift and  no S&H.  I just couldn't resist!  I visit the items in my makeup kit but just don't want to wear them with no place to go and show them off!

I still wear makeup when I venture out; especially eye makeup! I would scare a bear without it.😁

@SandySparkles  - As pretty as you are in your pic, I seriously doubt that!  lol.

@San Antonio Gal Awww.😊 That was such a kind thing for you to say❤, but really; that poor bear would ascend a tree lickety-split, if he had the misfortune of seeing me sans the miracle of face paint.😂😂

I wear makeup and fragrance every day, whether I am going out and wearing a mask or not. It's something I have always done and will continue to do it for myself.

I promise to remind myself every day that I am strong, courageous, and resilient.

No makeup? Really? I still wear makeup every day! I want to feel good about myself and look good, all the time, for me and my dh. I would feel awful if I didn't think I looked my best all of the time.
