I am a makeup junkie (no judgments please) and my stash has gotten way out of control. I have been meaning to organize it for so long, but kept putting it off. I finally decided I couldn't stand it, I didn't know what I even had and it was in so many different makeup bags. Although it pained me very much I got rid of a ton of makeup I never used and won't miss. Now it is so much more manageable. I just have to buy an organize, like the Glambox Glamluxe, but less expensive. I have been looking on Amazon but haven't decided on one yet. I can't promise I won't buy anymore makeup, but if I do I will follow the rule of buy something, get rid of something. Now I just have to tackle and organize my shoes!

  It is seductive to think that reorganizing will somehow help with excess.  I'm assuming that you tossed most of your collection and kept what you needed.  Congratulations!

I am going to go through my blushes. I mean how many peach and pink blushes do you need. I will probably give them to my mom. But I do want those new confidence in your glow blushing bronzers from IT. LOL. So if I get rid of some I can get some more. Ha Ha.

Congratulations! You must feel better. I'm not sure people realize clutter effects so many aspects of one's life. Flow of serenity is interrupted thus balance is off. True clean out breath in anew.

You can donate your gently used makeup and shower gels to Project Beauty Share! They have a way to sanitize the cosmetics and it goes to women's shelters. You can google them. Thataylaa on YouTube supports them and I've sent my stuff to them.

If you feels weird about sending makeup, they also take feminine hygiene products as well (not used obviously). Smiley Happy

@Sweet_Serenity, it was actually making me anxious. Also it was like a dirty little secret I was hiding, I would have been embarrassed if anyone had seen the amount of makeup I had amassed.

@Jordan2I have finally realized that there are certain products that are perfect for me. So those I will reorder. I do slip once in a bit and order something new but it is rare now. And most of the time the product doesn't work for me. So such a waste of money.

There is no way one woman can use all that make-up. For me, it is the fear of running out or the mostly the company will quit making the product, which has happened so many times.

After throwing away a lot of old make-up, I now keep a list of the product and the date I bought it. It is really eye-opening. Also, the price of the product.

I have favorite products in different brands that look the best and work the best. I always wanted to find one line that everything was great but that's not the case.

In the front of the book, I put a list of the perfect products and told myself that I didn't need to try those type of products anymore. Hope this helps.

@ccassaday  I thought the same thing. I've got 3 Tarte blushes from a TSV, Trish, NARS, a full palette of Benefit blushes, YBf, Becca, cream bushes and powder blushes, and on and on. It's crazy and no way will I ever use them. It borders on hoarding hehe.

I need to do this with some very old makeup that I've just been keeping, like a whole 2.5" drawer full of it and a mobile plastic drawer thing with 9 drawers.  I've stopped wearing most of it anyway since I just sweat the stuff off anyway.  I wore some today for the church Easter egg hunt, but went target practice first.  It was in the upper 70s, and it still melted off.

@makeup addict

Thanks for posting information about Project Beauty Share.  I had never heard of them, but looked them up & will definitely be making donations.
