I wanted to share this with all my Q Beauties... On Nov 10th, I had a phenol- croton oil peel done on my eye area. The skin there was just completely ruined by sun damage. The area was very hyperpigmented and the creepiness was like crinkled tissue paper- Trying to use any makeup looked pasty, cakey bad. As a kid, fell asleep in the sun on a beach for hours and the burn was 2nd degree+. My eyes were ruined after that.
The Peel was easy, almost no pain, except they put a green bismuth mask over the healing area for 1 week, so you don't want to go out and seen for the first week. I was able to cover using large sunglasses. The results are nothing short of incredible! It was not cheap, but worth every penny. Phenol- croton oil peels have come far and are safe and extremely effective if you are a candidate!

Done at a local " Med Spa". My consult was with their doctor/ a plastic surgeon, and I was originally consulting for surgery due to the very saggy, crepey skin, but she suggested the deep peel was the way to go. At this medspa, they were personally trained (and posted their training video online too) by the leading specialist for this procedure, who actually wrote an academic paper on the precise strengths to use. The specialist's name is Richard Bensimon, MD.
So I felt this was a known protocol they were using. And they had me do a lot of preliminary steps, topicals, prior antivirals and anti inflammatory. Anyway, maybe it can help someone else with bad sun damage ( who knew back then we were in for a lifetime of sun damage ?), and that's why I am posting about it.

It's a high-risk procedure and not for everyone. Must be done by a derm with experience using that kind of chemical peel.

It isn't for everyone, true. In the past it was very high-risk procedure, and it's more risky if you do a larger area on the face. These day, now, it's more commonly done, with a tested, known protocol to follow. Of course there is risk with any procedure, but if the office does it routinely ( this office does), and they have a high rate of success, so the risk is lessened.
