Hyperpigmentation Help

Has anyone else experienced darkening around the eyes when using Mirage, Formula 555, or other skin brightening products? I've never applied any of these products around my eyes, but the dark gray area seems to be getting larger.

I would consult a dermatologist about this, but only a precious few know anything about skin that is darker than olive. And, none of them live anywhere close to Cincinnati.
