I eat one avocado a day. I also consume plenty of salmon( I buy it at costco and fill the freezer with it) and raw seeds and nuts..... Good healthy skin fats... of course sealing in the moisture on your skin with a good skin cream can benefit as well. But I really think hydration and healthy skin come from the inside out.

@hovis Taking a supplement helps when you've tried everything else. Hair, Skin & Nails.

I have very dry, sensitive skin no matater what the season. Here are the products that work for me.
Josie Maran's Cleansing body oil and/or sugar scrub
L'Occiatane's Almond Oil cleansing lotion
After shower--
Josie Maran's body butter in the original formula and the honey dip ( extra help)
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair cream ( I use this on my feet at night and hands multiple times a day. I also use this after a shower and it works well.
There's a remarkable improvement in my skin. My arms and legs don't have those "alligator" patches and shaving irritate the skin anymore. Hope you have the same results that I did.

My dermatologist explained that the myth of drinking water as a remedy for dry skin has been around a long time. She explained what really causes dry skin and how I could treat it. Has nothing to do with drinking water. There are many good articles on the Net about this. A quick google led me to these three articles with good, overall info: Article 1, Article 2, and Article 3.

@SilleeMee .. yup! I "cured" my dry skin woes by listening to the advice of my derm instead of listening to the marketing departments of various products!

@hovis, Marula oil has helped me. I apply a drop at bedtime and massage into my face. If you are extremely dry, apply once during the day too. No more dryness but rather soft, hydrated skin. I purchase Acure Organics Marula oil for under $20. It absorbs quickly and is much lighter in texture than argan. For your body you can use the same or try Curel Hydra Therapy sold in drugstores. You apply to wet skin after your shower rub in and towel dry. Use everytime you shower or bathe. ![]()
