I know what you mean, especially now that it's winter and my furnace is turned on. I use a humidifier in my house and it really helps! Also, I take more vitamin C during the cold winter months and believe or not this will help your dry skin, too. I use a aha lotion to help keep my skin exfoliated as well.![]()

Often generalized dry skin is due to thyroid problems. You could ask your doctor to check your thyroid levels. The other thing to do is to stay hydrated yourself - in other words , drink more water. I have very dry skin - always have , even as a teen. I use bath oils to hydrate all over then I like Perlier body lotions and creams.
If I take a shower or bath and don't use my bath oils I really notice the difference in how my skin feels. I prefer Avon Skin so Soft - original scent , just because I like how it smells. When I have to take a shower I put a very small amount of SSS on everywhere I can reach before I dry off.Not as good as bathing in it but better than nothing. It only takes a very very small amount of bath oils - and you do have to deal with cleaning it immediately as soon as your bath is over so no one slips in the tub as it makes the tub very slippery.

@hovis... Here I go again with questions? Good Morning! Do you drink at least 80z. of water a day? What do you use as a face & body wash?
Face moisturizer & body lotion/ cream ? Do you use oils combined with a moisturer? Do you use a hyrating facial & body scrub? A hydrating facial mist? I want to help but you did not list what you use & thats why all the questions, besides the fact that you did say your skin all over is dry. I have normal skin but am more on the dry side in the winter months.

After your shower, rub olive oil on your damp skin. Do this again in the morning. It soaks right in and is natural. It will help replish your skin's natural oils. I also use Eucrine cream in the tub. It works really well on hands, feet, knees and elbows. For your face, buy some argan oil. Stay hydrated and run a humidifier in the winter.

Rule out thyroid problems.
Add unrefined olive oil to your diet. It is good for your heart and your skin. My DH and I are in our 60's and never use any lotions or moisturizers. In fact, we both have oily skin. I use a lot of olive oil when I cook. You need to hydrate from the inside out.

I second Cerave in the tub (with pump). It lasts all day, and the crepy skin on my inner arms disappears. (71 years old) Order from Amazon since it is not easy to find.
