Thank you for this! I thought I had hooded eyes, but I really don't. It looks like I have almond eyes.

Never, HD!! I was only attempting to take the pressure off! Now, I am still confused about my eye shape, however. I too thought I had hooded eyes, but it looks like I have almond downturned eyes.
I will try all the techniques on your chart and figure out what works best.

These are considered "deep set" eyes. Here is a video that may help:
Eyeliner Application for Deep-Set Eyes

At one time, quite awhile ago, I worked for a makeup artist. He said since I have always had small close set eyes and slightly hooded I can do it two ways. I can start at the center and just go out to the outer corners and slightly upward on both top and bottom lash line OR I can start at the inner most part and go very very lightly with color till I reach the middle than go a bit more from the center to the outer corners. I was never to line as dark or as heavy from the center toward the inner area by the nose if I wanted to line that area.
He also said being my eyes were small, close set and slightly hooded I should never use black. I can use plum, deep olive and brown for lining both top and bottom.
I should use brown/black if I want to wear mascara.
I have hazel eyes and have a fair to light complexion but can also wear a light/medium in some foundations.
by the way, navy blue on the bottom brightens up the eyes(whites).
