Re: How much moisture do you really NEED????

Now I'm hitting the 613 hard to get my curls back with the springy hold I am used to. Alternately, I don't know what CC you are using, but maybe it's a scalp issue and not a hair issue. Are you doing TT oil treatments on your scalp to normalize your scalp's oil production? Are you using TT CC? That may be your route to less greasy roots and stretching your cleanses another day. In actuality, the longer you use WEN, the less and less you should have to blow dry or fry your hair. Naturally, it will look and behave better.

I'm 60 and don't have naturally greasy hair.

I have tried seasonals, POM, TT, LAV.

My best bet seems to be just using it as a conditioner.

Great post and I agree with it. Did you take the recommender on the Chaz Dean site? You may be using the wrong formula for your hair type. I also agree that you need to add tt overnight treatments if you aren't already doing this.

The suggestion on the site was POM. It was the absolute WORST for my hair. I had to give it away.

I am surprised by this since I found the recommender to be very accurate. Although, I do understand why POM wouldn't be good for your hair type since I find it very moisturizing.

I guess everyone needs to find out what works for them.

If my hair were so desperately in need of moisture though, I think I'd cut down on the heated hair stylers and maybe cut it shorter too.

Re: How much moisture do you really NEED????

Terrier, when you use Wen as a conditioner do you add water to it and get it to froth up? It will feel something like Cool Whip Smiley Wink Then let it sit in your hair for the rest of your shower. If you add enough water and CC to froth up it's very easy to rinse out. Unless you have very coarse hair IMO.

You might even find you don't need to use the shampoo stage at all and can skip straight to just that "conditioning" step as cleanse and condition Smiley Wink

I honestly believe the addition of plenty of water (not just a splash) is the key if you are using enough CC. You know you are using too much CC if it's falling off in blobs. You don't need to waste any!!

POM did nothing for my hair either. After using Fig for a year, my hair has been consistently more moisturized from the inside, not just coated. I can tell because my curls are plump and juicy.

Terrier, since you hair has gotten longer, have you adjusted the amount of CC that you use?

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

I didn't find the recommender to be all that accurate for me. Perhaps I'm the one that isn't accurate about describing my hair?? It recommended Lavender and I didn't like that one at all. I can use all of the CCs except Lav. I thought it was drying!

Re: How much moisture do you really NEED????

You abuse your hair way more than I do {#emotions_dlg.laugh} I don't color, and I never use heat. But as has already been explained, some hair just needs more moisture. Mine is super thick, coarse and curly, but whether it's been short or long, it's always needed a lot of moisture. In fact, the only CC I can use regularly is Fig, because none of the other CCs have enough moisture for my hair. Wink

Re: How much moisture do you really NEED????

Experiment more with amounts, adding water, formulas etc. I don't think your hair should be greasy or limp using Wen. I would suggest trying some new things. You may just find something that gives your hair the clean body you are looking for. You may want to try using a little less if you think you are using too much. You may need to try using more, too. I hope you can find a way that works for you. I have to admit, I have tried to go back to shampoo before. The first day I use shampoo, my hair is great. But by the third day of shampoo, my hair feels stripped and like straw. I always end up going back to Wen. I have learned now to never stray. My hair is just so much healthier using Wen.

I have a Jennifer Lawrence cut - with long top layers.

I have been using 5 pumps for the first cleanse and five more for the second. "Bloom" both and rinse a LONG time.

It looks good for one day and that's it!

If I just use it as a conditioner, it looks good for two days.

Re: How much moisture do you really NEED????

I'd be bald if I blowed dried my own hair every other day. I think OP is doing too much to hair and using to much of a good thing. Try using less product and try to wash/blow dry every three or four days. Don't forget, first and foremost, that Chaz guy is a vendor. He's selling a product and he wants people to buy lots and lots and lots of it. It's not just possible but probable that most users don't have to use as much product or as often as they think. What I don't quite understand is why people would use a system that requires so many different products.
