How much do you spend on Wen?

I just started using Wen about a week-and-a-half ago, and I love how my hair looks and feels. I have an oily scalp and have to cleanse every day. I have long, coarse Asian hair to the middle of my back. I use 7 pumps of the 32 oz. fig for the first cleanse and 6 pumps of the 16 oz. WVM for the second cleanse and half a pump of WVM as a leave-in. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how much they spend per month just on CC for longish hair. I've gone through many shampoos searching for something that makes my hair healthy and not dry, and I think I've finally found it. Smiley Happy I don't think I'll go back to shampoo just because of the cost, but I'm curious about the expense. Thanks in advance!

Re: How much do you spend on Wen?

I can't answer your question directly, but I think if you seach for the Wen 101 thread it tells you how many pumps are in each 32 and 16 oz bottle and that will help you estimate your costs. And stay tuned to this board, because you can find out about good deals on Wen. For example, there should be a TSV coming up in March or April and you can find out the date (and sometimes more) here. One last thing...my hair is shorter than yours (just past shoulders, thick, but fine texture) and I use a lot more pumps (about 10 and 10...I can't be sure because I stopped counting long ago and go by feel). Perhaps if you try a bit more product you'll be able to go a day between washing. Some people don't like to do that, but if that's a goal, you might want to add more and see how it goes. In the end (say 6 months from now...maybe less), most Wenners find they can go longer between cleansings, because Wen normalizes oil production on their scalp. So waht you'll pay for Wen 6 months from now will be less than what you'll pay now. Unless, of course, you prefer to wash your hair daily. Glad you're loving Wen and good luck!

Re: How much do you spend on Wen?

I started using WEN early last year and am horrified by how much money I spent on it trying to find "that sweet zone". I did find it but it didn't last for me... In about four months time, no matter what I did, my hair became flat and greasy looking without being greasy! I then went through the gamit (again) of trying to find a new sweet zone... but nothing worked. I went back to my old shampoo and conditioner and I'm good again.

I can't even tell you how much money I spent... hundreds! Like I said, horrified by it but I was willing to give it an honest go at it and the first few months I was thrilled with the outcome. I guess some of us just need to trade off shampoos and conditioners every once in awhile.

Glad it works for some....

I don't really know as I buy the TSV's so I get a lot a once...I use it everyday but only do one cleanse mostly..I don't think I spend anymore than on the other products I used, (I didn't use drugstore brands anyway), but actually I use WEN as a cleanser, so I dont' buy face cleanser anymore so that saves also..I love it and just find ways to make it work, via TSV's and the OTO specials.....enjoy

I agree with the above but definitely believe that I don't spend anymore than I did when I used regular shampoo and conditioner. I don't need to use Wen everyday but only cleanse two or three times a week. When I used regular shampoo and conditioner I would cleanse everyday and didn't buy drugstore brands either. If you used to buy pantene and other drugstore brands for shampoo and conditioner than salon products would be expensive also which are similar in cost to Wen.

I spend 0. I won't buy into all that hype.

Re: How much do you spend on Wen?

A 16 oz bottle lasts anywhere from 3 to 4 weeks for me. I cleanse daily and use 15 pumps per day. So, that is a little more than 29.00 a month for cleanser. Prior to Wen, my shampoo and conditioner were a little over $30 for both and lasted about 5 weeks with daily usage. So, for me, it's a wash. No pun intended. Lol. Edited to add that I was using a 16 oz cc for the 1st cleanse and a 32 oz variety for the 2nd cleanse. I use 8 pumps per wash from the 32 oz bottle.

Re: How much do you spend on Wen?

I have shoulder length, coarse, naturally curly hair. I cleanse 2-3 times per week, and a gallon of Wen TT lasts me a year. The only time I use something different is the first two cleansings after coloring my hair, for those two I use 613. So, $175-$200 per year. Sounds like a lot when you could buy cheap shampoo for much less, but the TT Wen keeps the eczema on my scalp under control while shampoo makes it spiral out of control. Worth every cent.

I have long hair to my elbows and it will cost me over $100 month to use wen. I get better results with regular shampoo but everyones needs are different.

Re: How much do you spend on Wen?

My hair is past my shoulders. At the rate I've been using it lately, doing two cleanses per wash, two to three times per week, the CC alone I'm guestimating runs me about $62 per month (using standard QVC 32oz bottle pricing, including tax and shipping). Plus I am also using the styling cream, RTM, VTS and treatment oil.

IMO, it is only worth using WEN if you can afford to use enough product to cleanse following the instructions on the bottle every time. That is, use as many pumps as they call for, rinse and repeat. For me at least, when I was only cleansing once, only using half the pumps they called for, I wasn't getting good enough results to justify the cost of WEN. Using the right amount of product, I am very happy with the results. But it's definitely not cheap.
