I worked for Clinique back in the 1980's and there were only 3 main skin care products. There was facial soap, toner 1,2,or 3, Dramatically Different Moisture Lotion (DDML). There was also a cleansing oil for those who used the heavier formula makeup. Most people used the main 3. We were told that the 3 were sufficient. There was no eye cream or neck cream. Now, I pile on serum, eye cream, day or night moisturizer, retinol, neck cream. Have we been sold a falsehood? Do we really need everything we use today? Obviously, I have bought into using everything, but wonder about it.

honestly, I'm sick of all of it.................eye serum then eye cream and on and on....................you need this, that and something else.
pick one or 2, 3 tops and be done with it.
At one point with Skinn, Dimitri was being bombarded with"order of usage" questions...........that's how many products these women were using-too many

@this is my nic Probably not...I was just taking inventory of all of the lipsticks, lip glosses, lip balms, lip scrubs and other products (Josie Maran body balms , Philosophy body washes, Clinique) and thought do I really need all of these products?...and almost ordered a lipstick from Urban Decay today...

Through the years I’ve tried many products but I would always go back to Clinique. My skin looks and feels good without fancy serums. My mom looked wonderful without a lot of fancy stuff and my aunts used Noxzema only.
I use:
Philosophy cleanser
#2 clarifying toner
Moisture surge as my Moisturizer
all about eyes cream
turnaround overnight or
moisture surge overnight
thats it.

As I have said before how many products can you put on one face? Less is best in most cases.

Really Necessary? None. jmo....

"How many lotions and potions are really necessary?" How many pairs of shoes are really necessary?
Same answer applies to shoes and beauty potions and throw pillows: As many (or as few) as I want.

It boils down to the almighty dollar. The more you buy, the fatter the vendor's wallet gets.

Funny you should mention Noxzema! That's all my mother ever used after washing her face with Ivory soap! She had beautiful skin, but I think that was mostly due to her genes. That's certainly true for all of us, good genes = good skin. All the skin care products cannot improve our genetic makeup.

@Porcelain LOL...let's not go there with the shoes...my husband says I need an intervention...personally, I don't think I have that many
