How many do their own touch ups then go to a Salon and get high lights and low lights?

I have done this for years. I like to do my own touch ups. I like to do this since I can do it when I see fit and I don't have to go and have three things done at once. I've used the same color since I was in my 20's (34 D -7AA) as a base then I get high lights and low lights every 12 weeks. I love my color which is a light carmel blonde color and have received many compliments on it. Do you do this? If so why?
