I have always used my fingers.
I did try the Tarte large brush that came with one of their foundations. I kind of liked it, but stopped using the foundation due to not liking the shade.
Do you use fingers, sponge, brush or ????

Clean fingers. I got no time or patience to fiddle with doodads or yet another brush.

It depends on the formula.
With liquids and creams, I sometimes use my fingers (pressing or tapping on the foundation more than rubbing it in) but more often use my stippling brush instead. I feel the stippling brush gives a much more flawless finish and blends it in much nicer. I do not like using sponges or dense brushes as I feel they waste too much product and they just don't apply as well.
With powders, I generally use my kabuki brush (eco tools or Too faced).

I recently bought a stippling brush from Ulta, my face looks so much better. I never wanted to use a brush but it is so worth it. It was Real Techniques and was around $10.00.

I don't know what a stippling brush is.
I use Mally's Poreless Face Defender in place of powder. I do use the sponge, and have learned that it works best for me to press the sponge in small areas.
Watched Trish McEvoy last night, and she says she uses a sponge and presses it in to the skin.

I use the Beauty Blender sponge. Amazing what a difference! youtube has some videos and Amazon sells the white sponge. I wouldn't suggest buying the pink or black one as the dye may cause a problem with breakouts but never with the white one.
