OP,  why not just have your hair cut into a cute pixie? I wear my hair short and have no problems with hair bothering me. Easy solution.

@I am still oxox I'm a little late to this thread, but I also have a bob, am 64 years old, only wear headbands around the house and don't like bangs or very short hair on me. I also don't like to tuck my hair behind my ears.

 

Once I get my hair looking the best I can, I spray lightly with Tresemme Level 4 hairspray, making sure I get the underside of my hair by holding my head to one side, spray, then the other, spray.

 

This spray says "firm hold" but I find my hair is not the least bit stiff or sticky...and it stays in place all day.
