When I was 12 (late 1960's), my mom sent me to a "Charm School" to learn how to apply makeup, do my hair, nails and wear new clothing styles that were age appropriate. It was so fun!
My instructor was a former state beauty pagent contestant. We all got a make up kit with pink lipstick, blue eye shadow, "rouge", and cake mascara. She gave each one of us a makeover, as well as tutoring us as we applied makeup to ourselves. We also learned home remedy skin care.
I'll never forget her one tip: Put vaseline on your front teeth so your lips will glide and smile big.
LOL. We were even taught the correct technique to put on a bra. (As if we had something to put in the bra!
)
So, who taught you how to wear makeup when you first started wearing it?
