Just wondering how many chances will you give a product before you decide it's not living up to the claim that was made? I am using a Living Proof styling product, I have used it twice with not so great results. I hate to waste money but am considering tossing it, it isn't delivering as promised and taking up real estate on my tiny bathroom tray.

@Jordan2  Is there any way to return it?

For lots of things, it only takes 1 time before I know whatever is not living up -- not necessarily to the claim -- but to my performing standards.

I am like you and hate to waste money. I would try to return it. If not I suffer through and try to at least use it up. If it is a total loss I will then toss it and try not to think about the $ wasted.

For me most haircare products take just one time of use and then I know to toss or not.

Maybe one last time for good measure @Jordan2 ?  Instead of tossing, do you have a friend or family member that may want to try it?   If you can't return or give away, I'd toss it too.

If I want to try a different or new hair product I will look to see if a sample or smaller size is available to purchase, if I'm not completely satisfied I won't feel too guilty by tossing it out.  I have wasted too much money in the past by purchasing something then letting it sit thinking I'll give it another chance or hold on to it and give it to someone who can use it, then before you know it, months have passed and I end up throwing it out.

Re: How Many Chances

I'd try a couple of times on days when it didn't matter.

When it's a clear "no", return them for a refund.

All depends on what it is. If it's a hair styling product only once, maybe twice. Shampoo/conditioner usually within the first 2 or 3 uses I know. Cosmetics it is once, skin care it's a couple of weeks.

Anything I don't like goes in the box that I take to donate at the women's help center or the children's county home.
