My take on hooded lids is you can wear shadow. Place a color that's one shade darker than your skin tone in the crease and slightly above that to recess that hooded area. Do not use a light or shimmer shade there. Also it's best not to put a light shadow under the brow since that will bring the area forward and you're trying to keep the entire  hooded lid "back"  behind the lid shadow and eyelid.

@monicakm   Instead of liner, tightlining is the way to go for most hooded eyes. Wayne Goss has a great video on shadow, lining on hooded eyes.

@monicakm You may have already "made" me buy these 2 palettes-Too Faced Born This Way Natural Nudes, ABH Norvina Vol 5!

Both beautiful & usable palettes.

I have hooded eyes and still wear eyeshadow. Learned a lot from watching YT videos on how to apply it with different brushes, what shades work best and where to put them, etc.  I like neutrals best but do sneak in a color - softer color rather than bright - every now and then.

My eyes are heavily hooded. When I used to wear shadow, I would stick to one color. I also find that cream shadows worked best for me because my lids are crepey and powder shadow would looked "cracked" and uneven. Even when I applied primer, it would cake and clump. The smoother texture of a cream not only looked better, it lasted longer, and I didn't need primer.

For anyone with hooded eyes, Risa Does Makeup on YT has tutorials for applying eye make-up on hooded eyes, which she has.

@Shanus

I don't wear eyeliner because of my hooded eyelids.  If I remember to do it, I do tightline on the top waterline.

I'm an enabler from way back Smiley Wink

I was texting with one of my husband's clients today.  SOMEhow the topic of makeup came up and I found out she was a makeup junkie too.  She has the Too Face Born This Way Natural Nudes and after seeing my other two favorite palettes (Novina Vol 5 and Huda's Rose Quartz), I'm pretty sure those are on the way unless she picked them up in store Smiley Happy

@Cumbercookie13 I love eyeshadow sticks. They look polished without looking overdone. Quick & easy, too.
