Hinges are breaking

Back in May, I bought a Laura Geller special value that included compacts for eye shadow and baked foundation. The hinge on the eye shadow compact broke within a month. Now yesterday, the foundation compact broke at the hinge. These products have not been carried in a makeup case in my purse. They stay stored at home so there is no reason for them to be breaking. Anybody else experience this?

Not with LG, but my IT Celebration foundation has done the same thing. I don't carry it around and only use it at my vanity. Kind of cheap fabrication I guess. I have a Borghese blush container that I have used for years for the mirror (the blush has been used up since the early '80's) and it still works perfectly.

Just last week the hinge on my Dream Creams Concealer broke, it's had no travel or rough treatment on my end either. Although it is probably 2 years old, imo the hinge should last longer than that. I stopped buying Smashbox products a few years ago due to crumbling (I mean literally falling into pieces!) compacts. I hope Laura's products aren't going down that same road!

I can't stand it when I have a compact hinge break prematurely. There's no reason for it. Usually, I will never buy that brand again because of poor quality.

I have had the exact same problem that her compacts do not hold up. I also have never carried them in my purse. I have only used them on my vanity. I have not had that problem with other brands, even much cheaper ones. I would consider myself to not be rough when it comes to handling my items.

I've thought for sometime that Laura really ought to be about ready to come up with a new compact. Over the years, I've had several break. I'd also like to see something a little more sleek...

Just to add an opposing view ${#emotions_dlg.devil2}$ ...I've used LG stuff for years, and never had a hinge break. That includes the ones I carry in my purse!

I also have never had anything break ever...been using LG for 10 years at least and have in the neighborhood of 40 various blush, foundation and bronzer compacts + several of the little eyeshadows. (yes, I'm a Geller junkie!) That being said, I also never carry any of them in my purse. About half the compacts (various brands) I have ever carried in my purse have gotten cracked or broken...so I stopped carrying them with me. Just use those blotting papers on the go.
