Help with Mally TSV blush system

I just got the 10 piece kit the other day, and my first go at the blush system was not a reall success. It's also a little more orange than it appeared in the demo, so I'm mixed about this. The application of the "undercoat" went ok, but the powder blush on top just started screaming. Help with a successful application!
