Hi!
Can anyone help me with the several different epitators???
First, I must say that I have zero hair on my legs, underarms or arms.
It's the face I need the epilator for.
I have very fair hair with very fair skin.........
I do have some very dark hair on my upper lip and chin combined
with very light peach fuzz on my cheek hairline.
I now pluck or use Nair...UGH. !!!!
I would rather use the cordless rechargeable one but does it
work as well as the plug in???
Is there a specific epilator made for the face???
I noticed that there are a few different types of cordless.
One said gentle, one sensitive and another also.
Also what are the discs for.....??
Sorry for all the questions but I have no idea which model to purchase.
Can anyone help me with this???
Thanks a bunch !!
Kat

@Kat 13..........I bought and used the Emjoi Epilator on my face. I didn't like it!!! When the hair started to grow back in, it gave me major ingrown hairs. My face was a mess. I went back to just using an electric razor or a regular razor. I think what the problem was is that the Emjoi didn't pull the hair out from the root and it broke off under the skin. There are lots of threads on thus subject. In the search box just type Emjoi Epilator.
I agree @Naturesbeauty (and by the way I love your nic!), I hated it on my face. Left me with very irritating bumps. I have never had hairy legs; only ever had to use cream hair removers once every six months. I used Emjoi on my legs and & arms last summer, no hair at all has grown back yet. The main reason I purchased it was primarily for my underarms. It works there fine, and that's my only use for it now. I repeat the process once every three months or when I see or feel the slightest bit of hair.

@Naturesbeauty I don't use any epilator, I've tried and THEY HURT!!!! I don't understand how the vendor can say they do not hurt, she just buzzes her own skin everywhere like it's nothing. Of course she also said she's been using one for years. If so, she should be hairless at this point!
Like you Ms LM, I use a lady's razor on my face to take care of my issues ie mostly mustache. This is the only place I use it. I typically shave my legs and underarms still the old fashioned way in the shower with a regular razor.
I can't and don't recommend an epilator, again they very much hurt.

@Kat 13 I've owned a couple of Emjoi Epliators and my favorite is the little one called the Emjoi eRase that has 60 discs. The size makes it easy to handle and maneuver into certain areas. The discs are what spin around and catch the hairs and pull them out. While cordless seems like it would be more convenient, it's really better to have the corded because the power is consistent whereas with a cordless version (battery operated or rechargeable) would be inconsistent and probably be disappointing as the charge or battery gets used up. Like you, I have no leg hair or forearms but would use the Emjoi eRase on my jawline, chin, upper lip, and armpits. No doubt about it, there is discomfort when using an epilator. I wouldn't call it pain but you will feel it, and it's not pleasant, even it if goes away quickly.
All that said, I've grown weary from epilating and never getting to the hair free experience that's advertised. I would epilate regularly and would still have to tweeze random facial hairs that seem to sprout overnight. Even then, with vision changing as I age, I'm still not sure I get all of them. I recently purchased a MeChic hair removal device (triple the price of the Emjoi eRase). It's a laser type device that actually goes down and essentially kills the folicle so hair can't regrow. Shame on me, it's been sitting in the box for over a month but I finally plugged it in and began using it. The user does one treatment weekly and in 7 weeks there should be more of a hair free appearance. After that, it's a monthly maintenance treatment. DH and I are traveling more now and I like the idea of not needing to take one other thing with me or needing to bother with epilating while I'm away.

My decision to use the epilator (painful at first or not) was based on the idea that eventually I wouldn't have to do it as often as shaving.
I lived through my first experience at the beginning of the week. Yes. It pulled and tugged the hair out. Areas around my mouth made my eyes tear up.
I agree Meghen, the vendor, goes through the process like she has a hairless face or took the blades out of the epilator to eliminate any surprise hairs to cause screaming on air.

I use the epilator with the sensitivity cover on my face .I have no issues with it.It works well.I also keep the One Touch in my handbag for quick facial touch ups. That works too. It's cheaper. It costs around $12.It's like a mini razor for the face.No discomfort.
If you only need something for facial hair I'd recommend the One Touch.I use the epilator on my legs & underarms too.

@JeanLouiseFinch @Kat 13 I purchased this long pen looking shaver w/ a light for travel. I figure it'd be OK for touch ups.

I have very fair, sensitibve skin and use the Emjoy. I have both the corded and battery models. I think the corded works the best because it has more power and is faster.
I haven't used it on my face mainly because I am clutzy and don't want to shave off an eyebrow. I use a battery powered trimmer that you can get at BBB or any drug store. I think I use it weekly but it varies because of some of my medication. It works for me and I feel like I have complet control over the device. Works for me.
