For the past few days, I have had dry, flaking skin around my mouth and jawline. I use Cerave foaming facial cleanser morning and night and I use Renova every other night. The flaking occurs the day after my off-night of Renova. I try not to put it close to my mouth, but I'm sure some of the product travels there. Since I have mild rosacea with combo skin, I use a topical Rx called Finacea after I wash my face. On my nights off from Renova, I use my Finacea and then a small dab of Cetaphil Restoraderm lotion on my cheeks. I started out today without the flakes, but as the day progressed, I looked in the mirror and all around my mouth and above my mouth was very dry and flaky. Before I apply my makeup, I use Bobbi Brown's Extra Moisturizing Balm SPF 25.
I have a Clinique mild toner with no alcohol and the ingredients show that it contains salicylic acid. I understand that it is an exfoliant. I purchased this toner months ago when I was using the Clinique Redness solutions line. Even though it's not a part of the line, the s/a said that I would benefit. It doesn't irritate my skin, so maybe I should go back to using it.
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted you to see my routine. I'd appreciate your suggestions as to what works.
TIA!
