Re: Help please with Calista hot rollers

@qualityshopper   I kept my drrugstore/now Amazon rollers that are felt covered and less pulling and breaking off the hair that Calista's rollers with plastic "spikes". Much less expensive by more than half, too.

Re: Help please with Calista hot rollers

I found the Calista products are sub par to other hair products.  I'd send them back and check on Amazon.  Good Luck

Oh, I forgot to ask the following. I've read on some reviews (or wherever?) that, when you place each curler onto the base, you should hear a click. I tried and tried, but no click. Would any of you know if this is true? If so, maybe that's my problem??

@qualityshopper  I don't have this (I did, I lost it, mine worked), but I think that is right.  If you don't hear a click, it probably means it is defective in some way.

I think you mentioned that even though it does not turn red, it does heat up.  Does it heat up sufficiently to get a good style following the instructions?  If I could get a good style, I would be unlikely to return, which at least for me is a hassle.  If you are otherwise happy with the performance of the product, maybe call QVC and ask for a discount.  I think they can give you at least 10%.  I wouldn't say that, I would just ask for the discount.  If they offer you less than 10%, maybe return.

Just thinking here...

I did like mine and like all my Calista styling tools, except for one that sucked my hair in.  It got trapped inside and I was freaking out because it was hot, and I was afraid it would burn my scalp.  I unplugged the thing, and calmed down and pulled the hair little by little.  I called the Calista CS, left a message, no one called back.  It was past the return policy, I think I threw that in the trash.  I like the TrianglPro, which is like a hair iron, and the Perfecter.  Easy to use, smooth the hair.  No good curls though.

It's not you....it's the product .  Bought twice & both had 3-4 that never heated or changed to red.

I just bought Remington from Amazon.  $14 range.

Lots of problems with her product.

@fthunt

Does these look like the ones you bought?

Unfortunately I fell for them.  They are worthless junk, especially for the ridiculous high price!  Should have cost under $20 for the cheap product!   About half of mine turn red the other ones don't!

I’m really not impressed how she used to style and color Amy’s hair. I think she had done other hosts as well and not liking it either.
