Please help. I am 50 and realize that I could use botox, filler, etc. I am trying, however, to cover undereye circles with a bluish tint to them and can't find anything I like. Perhaps it is the way I am concealing. I don't want to do too many layers because then they settle in my creases but realize that maybe a concealer is not enough. Any advice would be so appreciated.

Botox only paralyzes muscles, not color over dark circles. Fillers do just that: they fill in creases and with enough product can "lift" cheek bones.
you need a good concealer: I've found IT Bye Bye Under Eye to be very effect and with just a little product -- I have darkness around the whole eye. It works. HTH

The following triangle method is the new, more-effective way of applying undereye concealer:

I understand your concern...I'm noticing a sunken look too. I thought allergies played a part, but I think it's the wonders of aging, UUGGHHH!! Anyway, I hate concealers! I always found them un-natural looking, and settling in lines.
I have sampled IT eye concealer, and found it to be very thick, and heavy. Probably good coverage, but I would never use something like that texture under my eyes. I read the reviews on the other popular one on HSN (can't think of her name). She does the triangle of light, and it' $38. Many said it's sooo drying, and made the skin worse. So I get afraid. That being said, until I find something I love...what I do is apply a good layer of my eye cream, and then carefully pat a teeny, tiny bit of my foundation a little way up onto this sunken area. Not too high near the eye, and just a really light touch. Keeps it hydrated, and doesn't cake up. I also got a sample of PUFF OFF from Benefit. I don't have bags, or puffiness, but sometimes I'll use a pin head size of this, because it has a very slight pink tone, and it's luminous, but goes on more clear. Again, I use an eye cream first. I put a little blush higher on the cheeks, hoping to bring that area out.
Hope we find something...I feel like it makes me look older

@LisaLee, I feel your pain.
What has worked for me regarding darkness around the eyes (hereditary thing for me) is Eve Pearl's dual salmon concealer. I swear by this product.
Whether a product will sink into your fine lines or wrinkles, is as much about the product as the application method. I like @feline groovy's tip regarding the triangle approach. I also apply first with the brush provided (Eve Pearl's brushes are not throw-aways) and then tap (not swipe) with my fingers. I also use this product for any dark spots on my face from my sun-tanning years.
Feline groovy's tip is really good for "hollowness" under the eye. Unfortunately there is no quick fix for sunken under eye skin other than fillers, but this tip helps.

I'm in the same boat. I'm 48, and have had dark circles my whole life - thanks mom! As I get older, I am getting a trough under the eyes, which made my eye area look extra dark. My dermatologist injected filler, and that has helped significantly.
For the discoloration, I find a corrector is a must. i have not used eve pearl's, but I do use Bobbi brown bisque ( it's pink-ish), and it makes a huge difference. I've tried bye bye undereye, and for me It does not cancel out the color enough on it's own - I have to mix in some red pigment to get that to correct enough. I'm too lazy to do that each day, so I tend to stick with BB bisque.
Really, the corrector will make a huge difference, and then layer a brightening product on top, right along that under eye ridge will help further. don't want to spread the brightner all over -keep it on that ridge. Wayne goss on you tube has some good videos on correcting extreme darkness, as does Bobbi brown.

Rather than glopping on product to try to conceal them why not try a skincare product to help reduce or eliminate them? Look for an eye serum and/or cream with Eyeliss and Haloxyl. Isomers has a serum and the ingredients are also in Mad Hippie Eye Cream. Skinn Hylighten is another product that you could look into.

I've been using Mad Hippie Eye Cream for a few weeks, and so far I like the results. ITA with @JeanLouiseFinch.

That may work for some. But for those who have hollowing out underneath their eyes, nothing topical will help eliminate them; hence the search for a product that might help at least lessen the appearance of darkness created by the hollows.

Yes, sometimes it is genetic and there really is nothing topical that can change it unfortunately. Nothing topical can fix the thinning of the skin under they eye that occurs (due to genetics) which causes a dark or bluing "circle" under the eye. Certain ethnicities have a tendency for darker circles or skin under the eyes as well. I wish all skincare issues could be fixed with a topical products!
