Help Please ... I have a Josie Maran tinted moisturizer with SPF. The bottom of the bottle says it expires 5/2016. I thought that physical sunscreen does not not expire. Is this safe to use after the expiration date? I wear it during the day and am sometimes outside.

I would'nt use it if expired. There's a reason why products have exp dates.

If you can contact an esthetician, they can answer your questions.

I would and have. I have never had a problem doing so. If you are unsure, call or email Josie Maran. ![]()

I would not use a product with argan oil and/or sunscreen after the expiration date. If I were wearing a tinted moisturizer with SPF, I would wear over sunscreen for adequate protection. Today, I am wearing Etla MD UV clear SPF 46 sunscreen and a cc cream with spf.

Contact Josie if you are really worried but I would use it. I believe they have to put an expiration date on. However, no one knows exactly when (or even if) products truly become either ineffective or contaminated. If you leave them in a hot car or on the beach, yep, toss it. If it's in your house, I wouldn't be concerned. Besides, it is literally still in date!

When it comes to something as important as sun protection, I don't take any chances so personally no I would not use expired spf products.

Skincare companies use exp.dates as a guideline really. If your product didn't turn color, smells ok and doesn't raise obvious flags it's ok to use. I've worked in skincare and honestly, if the JM SPF allegedly expired this month, you're totally fine using it...

There is no way to tell if spf has gone bad because it doesn't necessarily turns colors or smells funny. The spf ingredients DO degrade so you are taking a big risk by using an expired spf. Why would anyone take that chance since the whole point of wearing sunscreen is to protect your skin to Prevent sun damage and reduce the risk of skin cancer!
