Bobbi Brown's leaving, makeup lines coming a going, etc. All of this has me in a panic over my BRAND that I'm loyal to and don't what I do without!!  OK it's only makeup, but I don't know what I'd do without LG Balance n Brighten, LG bronze and brighten and of course LG blushes!!!  I hope it never goes away.  Even if Laura should decide to step down, maybe she would leave it in the capable hands of Jillian.  Yes, it's only makeup, but I use her entire line.  I love the baked shadows, the eyeliners, everything.  I could find replacements for shadow and liner, but now my three--foundation, bronzer and blush--there's nothing out there that's comparable.  I won't worry for now.   These things just seem to happen with makeup lines almost without warning.

@LittleT in KC Yes!  You struck a cord with me!  I get so frustrated when they do that.  It's like that with clothes too though.  I used to buy a certain bra on Breezies and suddenly, no more offered.  So I bought tons of them but they are all cotton and ..... well you know cotton (with the wire) tend to wear out.  The thing looks like a cross between an exercise bra and something like a torture thingy but I liked it.  (Sorry, off topic).

There have been several Laura Geller things I couldn't find.  Some here suggested Amazon but I worry if they are knock-offs, so I've made do.  Even Maybelline waterproof mascara did that to me.  They keep changing the color of the container and I go crazy so I bought a few extra.  I could go on but I won't.

Just know that I feel your pain.  You might want to go on Amazon (I think that is it) people suggested it to me.  Right now I'm on a quest to find Philosophy Primer, but it's a specific Primer (with real color) and I'm almost out....what to do...what to do.....

You gals are so nice!  I felt kind of silly even posting because again, it's only makeup and seems somewhat trivial, and yet we have our go-to holy grails if you will.  It took me so long to find something just right for me.  I'm going to take all of your advise and stock up!  Unopened will last forever!

It's not trivial at all.... and I'm finding that when you find something you love (not only make up, but other things) and you wear yours out and go back for another .... sorry, those were discontinued.

My DS has size 15 feet and has a terrible time finding shoes he likes that fit well.  He found a pair a year and a half ago and loved them.  Went back to the store recently specialty store!) and they are no longer being made. Makes you crazy.....

Laura Mercier has comparable makeup and I think the quality is even better.

No, LG is not going anywhere that I've heard, just that there is always a big name line that is being bought out, forever changed or discontinued in general.

I totally agree with others who have pointed out, it happens with other things too, not just makeup.  Favorite jeans never to be found again, favorite shoes, shirts, the list goes on.  Lesson being, when you find "it" go back and get a second and third if there's any chance of getting another, or it's gone forever.
