Hello Ladies/Hourglass Skin Tint

Hola ladies!  I think I have a bit to join in on the latest chatter.  DH is recarpeting the bedrooms.  I've done my part (that he told me not to do).  Now he's in town with his nephew having breakfast and coffee.  I love remodeling except for the inevitable mess it makes.

Had a long visit with my parents last night. Dad is unresponsive but I could tell he knew I was there.  Mom is mean again Smiley Sad  It's heartbreaking and I'm about to lose the strength to realize it's not "her" Smiley Sad

Hourglass Skin Tint... I've given it three tries.  I'm disappointed and returning it.  I have to work too hard to get it to not look patchy.  It's a radiant foundation.  I have to powder the t-zone and I'm very dry.  I CAN get it to look nice but not as nice as many of the other foundations I have and it's almost no coverage.  Any less and it wouldn't be there at all.  I'll be returning it.  Colourpop Blowin' Smoke finally got here.  I forgot how long it takes to get anything from them.  Wore it yesterday with the dark gray, silver in the corner and the ND INAN pink to blend out the dark gray and black eyeliner on the bottom lashes.  I hardly ever do that (black liner) anymore.  DH complimented my eyes several times yesterday but it's not a look I will wear often and definitely not in hot weather.

Had a followup yesterday with the heart surgeon.  I'm not progressing as well as most do (that's not a surprise),  After my ECG on Dec 1, he'll make a decision on when to do the other artery.

I know about the toll stress can take on a body (your mom and dad). We feel so very responsible for their comfort and sometimes there is not a lot we can do.

Your eye makeup sounds so nice! You got a good one there in your hubby! He sounds like a keeper for sure!

Re: Hello Ladies/Hourglass Skin Tint

That's too bad about the Hourglass. Skin tints are much lighter coverage than foundations-did you purchase it thinking it was a foundation? If that's the case, I can see why you were disappointed.

I prefer the lighter coverage myself, but it's not for everybody. The only Hourglass product I use is the veil setting powder, which I like. I apply it to set my concealer.

Didn't your parents have a dog at one time? What happened to the animal when they went into the facility? If it's too upsetting, you don't have to answer the question.

@monicakm   I empathize with you regarding your parents...my dad is under the care of hospice at home, with my sisters there with him.  The moments of total hysteria and panic and irrational thoughts are sad and disturbing.  While he does not have dementia, his disease is progressing to cause terminal delirium.  Haldol has helped to calm and bring him back and allow him to sleep and rest.  I do not know how his body has managed to survive this long.  We are all just hoping he exits to the next planet for peace.  Thoughts to you...

He's definitely a keeper.  We will have been married 44 years on the 16th.

He's a problem solver and I tell him all the time, "see?  This is why I keep you around" LOL  We are so opposite.  So the saying "opposites attract" must be true.

Oh no, I knew it was a tint and how tints work.  I prefer skin tints and have at least 3.  This one tries to disappear when brushing it on.  I've used a brush, sponge and my fingers.

Yes, they have a poodle.  He is with them.  There is an aid that works there that mom is giving Jake to when they can no longer keep him.  The aids take Jake out to use the bathroom.

I prefer a tint on the daily too.  The Nars Light Reflecting is one of my faves too.  It's a light to med coverage foundation.  I reserve my more full coverage for special events/evenings and cooler weather.

Prayers for you and your family.

Letting you know the Hourglass skin tint did not work for me either, but I do need coverage. Had high hopes after reading lots of the reviews.

I'm sorry Smiley Sad  I know your struggle.  My daughter sees them and cares for them more than I do.  She lives in the same town as they do.  With my knees (and then a heart attack), it's been a struggle and I usually wait till my husband can take me.

I will talk to the hospice nurses about Haldol.  Thank you!

It's an ugly disease and one I hope I don't live long enough to experience.

Thoughts to your family and you as well.

Was your experience the same as mine?  Barely any product left on your skin after applying?
