I'm sure there's insurance for this kind of mishap. Regardless if it's covered by the factory or vendor, there must or should be some kind of coverage. But instead of being forthright, this woman opened her mouth, stuck her feet in and then shot herself in the foot. Her attempt of damage "control" has done her in. Pitiful...

It sounds like someone or quite a few are trying to sabotage her cosmetic line. That is really too bad and I hope women give her a chance. If it happened again, I would say forget it.

So I visited the Morphe store at the Miracle Mile Mall in Las Vegas this past week since I was staying at the Planet Hollywood resort and casino and the Miracle Mile Mall is attached to Planet Hollywood. It's not my first visit to that Morphe store either so I'm familiar with the store's layout.
I'd say that at least a third to half of the back of the store is all Jeffree Star cosmetics including everything from his cosmetic line that has ever been made including his lipsticks, glosses, eyeshadow palettes and makeup brushes. That is a change from a year ago as his makeup took up a lot less square footage of the store.
Jaclyn Hill's makeup brush set, her first Morphe eyeshadow palette and her Vault eyeshadow palettes took up part of the left wall. Next to her collab stuff was James Charles Morphe eyeshadow palette and his Morphe brush collection.
And then in the center of the store are the Morphe foundations, concealers, and lipsticks. So I decided to look at those batch codes on the Morphe foundations, concealers, and lipsticks. From what I could tell each color had its own batch code. I didn't look at every shade of concealer, foundation, or lipstick as I didn't want to be obvious when I took some photos of the batch codes on the concealer boxes and the foundation tester tubes. I also took photos of one of the Morphe cream lipstick testers and the boxes.
Please forgive my raggedly cuticles, I didn't realize how bad they looked until I looked at the photos last night. The Las Vegas dry heat and dry air plays havoc on the skin on my hands and face and I didn't moisturize my hands like I should have.
The Morphe concealer shade C2.15 has the batch code GC05A. This is the same number as the batch codes on all of the Jaclyn Hill lipsticks.
The Morphe concealer in shade C2.35 has a different batch code GB12A
I took photos of 3 Morphe foundations that have batch codes on the tubes. Notice that each foundation color has a separate batch code.
Shade F2.70 with the batch code GC02A
Shade F2.10 with batch code GC03A.
Shade F2.20 with batch code GC04A.

So as to not make one post so big, I'm putting the photos of the Morphe lipstick and batch code in a separate post:
I looked at both the Morphe matte and cream lipsticks at the Morphe store in Las Vegas and the lipsticks looked fine. I smelled them and they didn't smell bad, the cream ones I smelled weren't scented. They have a lot of nude and natural color shades. The cream shade I photographed is called Rebound. The batch code is MA09A. The lipsticks sell for $9 dollars U.S. in the Morphe store.

Nice sleuthing, @TY ! So do you think Jaclyn used some of the same methods, if not the same lab as Morphe? It's very suggestive.
Story update: Jaclyn Cosmetics sent out emails yesterday letting people know everyone would be refunded for their lipsticks, including shipping. Still no recall. And no admission that people found strange material in their products. Still Jaclyn saying she's sorry a few people received "less than perfect" lipstick. As if that's what people were complaining about.
But at least people will have all their money back. That was one of the worst cosmetics launches I've ever heard of. Her next offering should be quite a doozy!

Yes, I think that there is a financial and business relationship between Jaclyn Hill, her cosmetics company and Morphe. I think Jaclyn's lipsticks were made or contracted to be made by Morphe too. Those Jaclyn Hill lipsticks with all the same batch codes for every color is suspicious. Why is the batch code number on the lipsticks the same as the one concealer I looked at?
It was hard to get the batch code numbers to be in focus on my iphone camera as the lettering on the concealer boxes is black and so are the cardboard boxes.
I also wonder if Jeffree Star is a silent partner or somehow financially invested in Morphe given how much square footage his products take up in the store.
I also forgot to mention that in the front section of the Morphe store was their Pride palette and a photo of a big group of what I assume are smaller gay influencer beauty channels and makeup artists. The big tv screens were not promoting those beauty channels and influencers with millions of social media subscibers like what I've seen on past visits to that store.
Edited to add a link to my post about Quay Australia sunglasses. The Morphe CEO also runs the Quay Australia brand and Jaclyn Hill did a sunglasses collab with them I think more than year ago. The Quay Australia store in the Miracle Mile store is 2 stores away and around the corner from the Morphe store in Las Vegas.

DD met Jaclyn Hill at the IMATS 5 years ago. She was just starting to take off. This was when the now popular lines were growing. She and her friend waited about an hour to buy Morphe brushes. And Colourpop was not as big as it is now. She also met Marlena from Makeup Geek. Shortly after that she went to a pop-up shop for Makeup Geek (and took me with her!). I got to visit with Marlena for a while. She told me how she wanted to keep the cost of her makeup affordable for everyone.
Even after they cut off the line, Jaclyn stayed to meet every person who was waiting to see her. She was very nice and DD was impressed with her. DD stayed in contact with her. DD said she told them she was going to be the same "Jaclyn," but of course once she got famous that changed a little!
DD ordered 6 lipsticks, including one for me (even though I really like another line). All of hers were fine, and she's been wearing them. Of course she did receive an e-mail that she will be reimbursed the whole cost, and she does not have to send the lipsticks back.
I'm sure Jaclyn will grow from this experience, and there are probably others coming up who will now know not to make the mistakes she made. I hope everything works out for her.

OMGosh, @TY Did you see you're reddit famous now? The pictures you took got posted on BeautyGuruChatter. People are commenting on them.
(It is reddit, so anyone following the link below should be careful. BGC is a civilized place, but many other areas aka subreddits are absolutely bonkers and toxic so take care.)

LOL, I noticed that. I am not a member of reddit but I do lurk there and look at the Beauty Guru Chatter board, the Asian Beauty board, and the Makeup Addiction Canada boards. Thanks for the heads up!
