Re: Having Trouble Finding A New Toothbrush

I'm not sure if it will work on an electric toothbrush but on my manual if you run it under hot water that will soften it. My dentist taught me that. So maybe if you have one you like and that's the issue you can give that a try.

The hot water causes the bristles to splay permanently and then it becomes less efficient. It's better to just buy a softer brush (head).

I’ve worked in the dental business for 40+ years. Sonicare is the gold standard of toothbrushes. They come with a “soft” brush, but you can buy Sensitive heads and Extra soft heads on Amazon or their direct website.

Please, everyone, no one should use a Medium toothbrush! Medium bristles cause gum recession.

@Zebsmom2 Pretty general statement. Back it up with facts. I've used them for 14 years and my gums are GREAT. K?

Same here and in fact my dentist said I have the gums of a young person. I'm 69.
