I used to frost my hair so that I had plenty of color variations in my"dirty blond" hair. I got a lot of compliments on the results. As I got older, nature was doing the frosting for me! I liked the "sandy beige" nature was providing.

Now I am pretty much all white-beige and I'm considering trying to reverse the frost by using a darker color through the cap. I have a cap but am not quite sure what to buy to do the color.

Should this be a 2 step plan, first doing one color then washing that off and doing the process again with another color? I tried a semi-permanent color last summer but hated the way all my hair was the same color.

Any suggestions? I am not in a position to have my salon do foils right now. My hairdresser is great, but expensive and I get cuts monthly.
