Has anyone here ever have any trouble with the mascara?

I know I should take off my mascara before bed but sometimes I forget and a couple times I woke up with my eye feeling like there was something in it. It then progressed to becoming very red and looks infected. The common denominator is the tarte lights flashes camera mascara. This happened to me before. I used the mascara yesterday and it was dry looking coming out of the bottle. I don't recall if that is the consistency of the mascara?
