The stylist I am using specializes in color. I've seen her work and it's beautiful.
I've never had anything like that done to my hair and maybe I'm just ready for a change. My biggest obstacle to overcome is the $$ of such services. I can afford it, but I'm used to getting a cut/color and that's not near as pricey.
Any thoughts are welcome.

I had never heard of this type of highlight so I googled it. Very pretty! I have seen these, my own daughter has had them. I did not know what they were called,🙃🤣

I never heard of the term either and googled it. Still not sure the diff between it and regular highlights but the pics I saw online are gorgeous.
I did ombre about 2 yrs ago and have kept it up. Was also looking for a change without cutting.
At first I thought I was too old, then said, Who Cares?? LOL I get lots of compliments still and don't begrudge the money at all, even tho pricier than reg highlights.

I have not had this done, but I think it is beautiful. I would have it done in a heartbeat, but still not too comfortable going to the salon just yet!

My daughter is a stylist and color specialist. She has performed this technique on many of her clients with beautiful results.

I had balayage a couple of times. Before that, I had been getting blonde highlights. At first, it was a shock for me because she changed the top of my hair to go really dark--darker than my natural color. I've seen others with this technique and thought it was a beautiful look. However, it may have just been the stylist or the colors she picked, but I didn't think it was a good look for me. Maybe if it were more of my natural dark blonde color, I would have liked it more.

@Witchy Woman With all the $$ you've no doubt saved on salon visits these past months, GO FOR IT!

Thanks for your input.
My only concern is once I have it done, I'll want to keep doing it
I've colored my own hair for years, but just lately, it hasn't really looked like I hoped it would. Not to mention that it is graying. Sigh.
Of course, all the photos she shows are on beautiful, long hair. Mine is only shoulder length.
Will let you know what I decide.

My ex-hairstylist did this back before I knew what it was called. The best color jobs I've ever had. It is beautiful. Unfortunately she just disappeared one day. My hair is too short now to do it, but if I were to do any kind of highlighting or anything, balayage is definitely the way I would go.
ETA: When I had mine done my hair was about shoulder length.

Keep us posted!
True, I thought I would try the ombre just for fun, but liked it enough to keep doing it. My hair is pretty long. I am very grey up top and it just seemed like I had a dark helmet head all the time! My previous stylist did lousy highlights....color never blended and looked brassy so fast.
My current stylist is excellent with color and everything blends so well.
I am going for color today and am going to ask her about this!
