I heard it was a healthy way to dye your hair. I tried pouring a cup of cold coffee in my hair and left it in for an hour, and my hair does look a bit darker.

I had to laugh when i read this because when my grandmother was around 90 she put black coffee in her white hair. That story really got around. She was not upset with the results but I cannot remember the results.

Sorry, I have not, but the idea is interesting.

I think I really might try this. I cannot get the right brown from the bottle. Now that I have to cover the grays every four weeks, not having to put that dye on my head would be great.

Wonder if using espresso would make it deeper in color?

@Cookie777- Did it actually color the grey- if you have any grey, that is....

@Cookie777  What is your purpose?  Are you trying to prolong the color?  If so, purchase Aveda's conditioner for brown hair.  It has color in it and will wash out when you shampoo.  It is a very nice product.  You should be wired up from the caffeine in the coffee.  LOL

I'll stick with the 2.97 bottle of Color Silk.   I don't want walk around smelling like Maxwell House.

I tried it on my eyebrows, and it didn't work on the white ones, but it did darken the thinner brown ones a bit.
