UPDATE: I went to the salon this morning to have my hair cut. The woman who does my hair noticed the difference in the amount of new hair and the color change. She said that in the back there is significantly more dark new hair. That surprised me because I don't apply it in the back. I only apply it in the vertex of my scalp. After she finished styling my hair I looked in the hand mirror and noticed that the color of my hair in the back is a darker grey and not the stark white as before.
Yes, I am pleased.

I think maybe the minoxidil is having a slight transdermal effect, meaning it can travel into the the skin and affect other areas near where you applied it. @ChouChou
