The salon I go to is offering a complimentary Nioxin scalp cleanse and blow dry tomorrow and I have an appointment.  I'm try to decide whether or not to cancel my appointment.  I have thick, healthy hair, but my scalp can be a little itchy.  Has anyone had this done, or have you purchased Nioxin scalp treatment?  Thanks for any responses.

They sometimes use that at my place.  I think it's just a conditioner that stays on for a few seconds and feels a little tingly.  I wouldn't cancel my appointment over it at all.  It feels good.

I have never had a Nioxin scalp cleanse, but I have shampooed/conditioned with this system.  About 20 years ago my husband's hair was developing a thinning spot at the back of his head.  Our daughter was attending cosmetology school (after college!) and brought this system home for him to use.  He has never stopped using and he has no thinning spot any longer.  My SIL also started the 40-something thinning and is using this system with great results.  I've recommended this to friends following chemo and they've been pleased also.  Bottom Line....If the price is right, I'd go for it.  Seems to work good with our family.

Nioxin is a gritty gel type of product as I remember. It rids the scalp of dead skin, old product that we don't always get out thoroughly,etc. I bought some for my son to use for dandruff issues. It works for him when he remembers to use it. 

I would give it a try if my hairdresser offered to do it because it takes awhile to rinse out.

@Carolm  I've used Nioxin products in the past including their cleanse.  Just enjoy the experience...you are in for a treat!  Just very refreshing....and always feels good to have someone else shampoo your hair!  Have fun.
