Re: Happy July, Scents and Common Sense Thread

Doglover, you are welcome, happy I could do it. I don't even know how to do photo-bucket on my own computer, you know more than I do believe me.

The menagerie is so cute and tame! Doglover's mini wild-life reserve. Glad they all take turns with the food and don't fight.

Thought maybe it was a lip-liner. At least you know what the problem was so you can use it on your lips now. No, not your fault, everyone messes up those displays. Unless you get there when they first open it's all hap-hazard. Not Only were some liners in the wrong slots in my Ulta, they were still in the wrong spots when I returned!

Great review, glad it's all working for you. Hope the foundation works well in the heat, not much does. Is there an eye primer or a product for under eyes? Thanks for the review, and good to know the foundation is a little lighter and more neutral than IT. Wish it would add a shade like that, they sure need it (neutral fair-light)!

The liner and lipstick sound great too.

Re: Happy July, Scents and Common Sense Thread

Desi, this has been on since 4 PM and is now 4:50 AM next morning so, over 12 hours and still looks the same. The lipstick is called French Kiss which doesn't say much but is a nice neutral that would go for anyone, soft color, sort of a very soft pink/light rose. At 1 AM I got out the little brush that comes with it and dabbed it in the foundation than put around the nose area and my eyes. This worked very well there, nice for areas a sponge doesn't get into as nice so, will use this brush around the nose area as well as around the eyes when finished with the sponge.

You get the foundation with a sponge and a brush, lipstick, eye shadow crayon in a soft sort of mink brown, eye lining pencil in navy/black which is very nice, like the tiny brush on the other end over that sponge tip, her black volumizing mascara which I have been wearing, a favorite and a eye lining pencil sharpener plus the under eye primer to brighten the eye area which I didn't use. All the colors are very nice, I think anyway.

As said, I got light and glad I did, is a perfect match for me, can't see where it starts or stops which I prefer even if it doesn't give me much color. When I get a foundation that gives me more color you can see where it lets off and I hate that, DH says I look like a clown made up when you can see where foundation lets off. He isn't much for for an over made up look nor am I but do like my eye liners although once in awhile I like mascara too but never wear both together for some reason, just never did.

I think this is a neutral light color, is on me anyway, no yellow or pink and no orange which I totally hate.

yes, is an under eye primer but I didn't use it yet, just put everything else on since I don't use an under eye primer anyway but will try it since it comes with it.

I think this is buildable but it isn't a what you would call a full/heavy foundation if you want a really full coverage, this isn't it, is a soft coverage and just a bit more than a TM although it is nicer than a TM and is buildable. I went over the tiny red spot(with the foundation) I have between my eyes when finished to cover that using a small concealer brush.

Re: Happy July, Scents and Common Sense Thread

Second day of use. I like this even more now using my RT expert face brush. The sponge that comes with it lays down a lot more foundation, use a lot more. The tiny brush that comes with it is much better than the sponge since it doesn't lay down as much foundation but would take longer being so small so, my RT expert face brush was/is perfect.

I like everything in this July TSV Mally kit, think it will be the 29 th as a TSV.

I don't wear primer but today I did use the under eye primer and think anyone that uses or needs these will like this one, goes on very easy, smooth, no tugging and takes just a tiny bit. Really brightens up the under eye area. I will use this when I don't get enough sleep, lol, very nice.

I really like the foundation although today I did use my Real Techniques expert face brush which was perfect for putting this on, more control and used a lot less. Very natural look and my skin feels and looks great, not cakey or madeup and certainly not at all heavy which is a big plus for me. This foundation comes with a sponge and a tiny brush, tiny brush is good for around the eye area as well as the nose area and doesn't apply as much foundation as the sponge does BUT I will be using my Real Techniques expert face brush to apply this foundation, perfect.

The crayon type shadow is very soft, almost a soft mink brown which goes on smoothly and looks natural, would go for anyone I would think. I don't always wear shadow but Always wear liner but this shadow is nice, nice color, nice texture and gives the lids an even tone if you need that.

Normally I don't wear or like dark or deep color eye liners but today I used this new navy/black with a light hand than using the brush on the other end(nicer than those sponge tip smudge ends) went over the liner, worked great, gives a sort of smokey eye effect that looked good. You can get a soft smokey look or a deep sultry smokey look depending on how light or dark you apply the liner. I also used this on the lash line(sometimes I do the water line), also looked good. You also get a pencil sharpener.

I really like the soft rose/pink color of the lipstick)French Kiss) as well as the feel and texture when on and going on, very nice neutral color and soft looking but a definite color that's for sure, very nice. I really like this color.

I didn't use the mascara yet only because this is the mascara I already have and wear anytime I wear mascara, is my favorite mascara, natural looking, volume mascara but also natural looking, not those fake looking spider eyes which I don't like and doesn't flake. For me I wear Either eye liner OR mascara but not both, just me.

So, for me anyway, glad I went on AD for this kit, really like everything in it.

Re: Happy July, Scents and Common Sense Thread

Doglover thanks for the detailed review, sounds like a great kit. You like all of it which is so rare with a kit. Glad the RT brush works, I use that too when I want a brush. None of my other brushes (mostly flat types) do the job nearly as well. Glad the liner is usable as well.

Will watch when they do present it. Right now Jamie is on with IT.

Re: Happy July, Scents and Common Sense Thread

yes, do watch on the 29 th when it is the TSV, may be surprised, I was even thought I knew I liked the mascara and shadow crayon(have that one too in another color and have the mascara already).

The sponge puts on a lot more product so, for those that want or need extra coverage the sponge is the way to go. The tiny flat brush that comes with it, is tiny, is nice for the eye and nose area but would take longer to do a whole face using it but would work. The Real Techniques brush thought works great, does a really good job so will be using that. I don't want or need a heavy or full coverage foundation so I won't use the sponge although I did the first time since it came to use with it but for me, my RT expert face brush is the best.

It is totally buildable though and will still feel light on the skin. It is odd, looks like powder till you press on it than is moist, very different. It is much much lighter in the feel than the IT we both have. I can't wear that on warm days, feels like I have a mask on, winter if fine but not in warm weather. The IT does have full coverage where this is a medium coverage unless you build on it which I haven't done.

Someone posted the lip color doesn't show on her, no idea why since it is a definite rosy pink and has a nice color to it.

I was surprised I can use this navy/black eye liner but as I said, I used a light hand when I applied it than immediately used the brush on the other end to soften and smudge, works very well now for both top and bottom.

It is now 3:32 and I put everything on around 4:30 this afternoon so, very happy with it but as said, we are all so different and what works for one doesn't work for someone else.

Do watch it when it is on July 29 th at midnight, colors are very nice in the kit.

Re: Happy July, Scents and Common Sense Thread

Hi Desi, doglover, pepes mom and all! Hope everyone is doing well!! Have to read all the posts I missed too. Just wanted to let you know had a fun visit with family last week -- DD and 2 DGC left Thursday AM and DS and 2 DGC left Friday AM and stopped at Syracuse on the way home to Maine. DGD wanted to visit U of Syracuse and thought they would do that on the way home. Everyone got home safely.

We had some rain especially Tuesday -- thunder and lightning and it just poured. Glad we're on a hill -- the creeks and streams were really full and running like I'd never seen before. DGC were excited because they never see lighting in CA! It's so dry there too!

DS did quite a bit of work around here and DH was really sorry to see him leave. It's so awfully quite here now with just the two of us.

doglover -- saw the great photos that Desi posted and will go on Photobucket to see more!

Take care everyone and have a nice day.

Re: Happy July, Scents and Common Sense Thread

Hi guys. Hot and muggy and going to pour soon. Probably you have rain already!

Doglover, will watch when the Mally kit is presented. I think the kit foundation compact is comparable to the new IT CC+Veil Compact, not the IT CC Cream. QVC hasn't had the new IT CC+Veil yet, so hard to say if they are identical. Hopefully when and if they do it's in a nice kit as well. I think you have a winner kit though already!

Saw my CVS has NYX, but not as many products as Ulta.

Janet, missed you! Glad you had fun with the kids and GKS! Glad they could swing by the university on the way home. Must seem very quiet now, but maybe that's a good thing too.

Re: Happy July, Scents and Common Sense Thread

Glad you enjoyed the visit, very nice, missed your posting. Yes, go to photobucket and just look at dglvr3 pictures.

Desi, yes, is a winner for me, really like this compact foundation and so glad it isn't powder like I was afraid it might me, really a nice moist foundation but not for those that want or need full coverage. I too am anxious to see this presented since I am sure it would be a buildable one although I haven't done that. Everything in the kit works for me.

You say It has a foundation similar? I am sure I will need foundation before October when the next shipment comes. The rest of the stuff I know will last but not the foundation and do like it.

poured very hard tonight and lots of lightening and high winds. It is also very humid yet and want a real scorcher for today again and more heavy rains, do need the rain so won't complain but can't wait till it is a bit cooler, towards the middle of the week.

Re: Happy July, Scents and Common Sense Thread

Doglover, Ulta has the IT CC+Veil. It was on and end cap, end of the isle on display. QVC also has Amore Pacific with the same compact and a free refill. All of these types of foundation are pricy per ounce.

Probably going to pour here too if it isn't already.

Re: Happy July, Scents and Common Sense Thread

Desi, I just checked out the Amour Pacific(never heard of it till you mentioned it) here, looks much heavy on air than my Mally looks, darker and from the pictures, don't think any shade would be good for me. I watched the 2 models put it on, both looked sort of reddish and didn't like it on Jane either. I am anxious to see how Mally looks on air when it is the TVS on the 29 th.

It would be nice if Mally had refills for her foundation.

did pour here tonight and want the same for Tuesday with large hail and damaging winds and flooding but still humid till Wednesday so, will leave both AC on for one more day than open the windows again.
