Re: HairMax comb for temple area thinning?

@SilleeMee  I did go to their site, lots of good info but they also have some other products and scalp products you can put on the scalp prior to using the laser comb and it says it will help penetrate the products so they work better....

@SandGirl ,

I've never used the those products sold by HairMax so I can't comment on that. The only things I have tried on my scalp is Rogaine (minoxidil) and also a copper peptide (Isomers).  For me the Rogaine was an oily mess so I stopped using it...didn't stay on it long enough to say if it worked or not. The copper peptide did help fill in the temple areas, but here again, it's hard to say for sure if my regrowth was from the laser or the CP.

Re: HairMax comb for temple area thinning?

@SandGirl , I have the Prima 9 and have had amazing success with the temple area and crown.  I have had it over a year now and have always followed the directions exactly.  If it died tomorrow, I would buy another in a heartbeat.  Here are some photos for you!  Make sure you take some, too, so you can document if it is working for you or not.  It was hard to get my hair/hand in the same position each time, but I tried.

@Ainhisg  OMGoodness, first off THANKS for being brave and sharing you pic, that totally helps!!

Did you lose hair at first like some do?

If I got it, I would use it EXACTLY how they tell me to, I'm not one to put the money out and not use it, what good does it do in the drawer and I don't have that kind of money to toss around, I would do the easy pay. It is showing on waitlist but I am hoping it comes back in stock and I'll be locked into that price if it does!!1

Re: HairMax comb for temple area thinning?

I haven't yet been using my headband quite 6 months yet, but I do think I'm seeing growth in the temple area like the pic above, but not that much yet of course.  Wish I had some pics, but not sure I can get good ones that close up on myself.

About the shedding, I haven't noticed any.  I usually have a fair amount of shedding since I don't wash every day, so the previous day's normal shedding gets tangled up in my curly hair.  However, I saw an article the other day avout the new trend of eyebrow transplants where they take hair from your head and transplant to the brows.  The one thing they mentioned that oftened concerned the client was that shortly after the procedure, all the new hair would fall out.  But, that the follicle was still alive and would grow back in.

@SandGirl , you are welcome, and it did take some bravery to post. Lol. But I would hope someone would help me make a decision if they could, and what better way than pics? I did not lose any hair...just gained...

Re: HairMax comb for temple area thinning?

@SandGirl  I have been using one for over 3 years now.  After only 3 months I started seeing fuzz appearing in the temple area and after using 9 months hair was growing.  My hair is even thicker in the back.  I did use it nearly every day for the first year and now at least once a week or more.   I know 2 others who say it does not work but neither used it like they should have and often didn't use it at all for a week or two then they complained it was junk!   It's easy to use and takes very little time.

Re: HairMax comb for temple area thinning?

It's been working for me.  I have (had) thinning on temples and top of forehead.   I do it 3x week.   Totally satisfied!  I constantly have new hair growth.  Looks like I'm growing out layers now.

Using a hair laser everyday is not necessary. I spoke with a hair specialist, he is a derm at a medical laser clinic, and he told me that using a laser everyday can cause what he called 'lazy follicles'...meaning the follicles become accustomed to the laser energy and don't produce hair. He went on further to say that follicles need a 24-hr 'resting period' so that they come back to their normal state rather than a laser-stimulated one where blood flow is increased around the follicles. So give it a rest every other day and things should be fine, just as instructed by HairMax.

And just as a side note...while hair lasers are developed to target hair follicles, they can also stimulate sebaceous glands on the scalp. So you may experience some noticleble oily hair while using it...but not always, some people do, as in my case.
