Hello ladies have any of you had any experience with the hair toppers I'm seeing online? Looks like they clip in somehow to the top of your hair I'm not sure how. I would like to try one but not sure if there is any particular brand or any tips.

@KACEE1115    A picture would help so we know what you're talking about.

@Kachina624

It's similar to a toupee which clips onto your existing thinning hair on top of your head to cover the thinning areas.

@SilleeMee    I thought she was talking about a hat, similar to a fascinator.

Re: Hair toppers?

I wear them from time to time. I do find them harder to work with to get it to line up and secure in the right place without them moving around but if you get the right one, preferably with a comb in the front along with the clips they can be help add volume and look very nice.
I would not buy any advertised on Facebook and Instagram with too good to be true prices.  They often steal photos and what you receive is nothing like what is advertised and shipping back to China, if returns are allowed, it is very expensive.
Estética had nice ones with synthetic hair or if you want human hair, Milano wigs and Lu's wigs are good. If you can afford it I would go for a silk top rather that lace for the most realistic part.

I don't know much about toppers. I have seen this older lady come into the salon where I go, she has the owner do her hair ( he is an older man). Anyway I watched him do her hair, she is extremely thin on top, she has what looks like a toupee ( I imagine it is very good quality). He does her hair, puts the piece on top and incorporates it in with her own hair. He does a very good job, you would never know it was a piece.

Go to your local wig shop(s).  The stylist there will help you out & answer all your questions.

Sounds reminiscent of something my mom wore way back when.  It was called a wiglet.  Back then, the beautician would tease the natural hair, then secure the wiglet at the crown with a bunch of bobby-pins.

So this topic lead me down a rabbit hole...I never heard of toppers before. While clicking etc, it lead me to a product called boldify...which seems similar to topik. One review said they dabbed it, kind of like you do with the Joan River's product. Anyone have any familiarity with bodify hair fibers? I don't want to look like a Chia pet.... 🤣
