I've been to the salon ladies.  They're really spacing out stylists and everyone is in a mask and a notice on the door that masks are required.

My stylist in  room alone. I'm not afraid. I have a tendency to wait too long in between haircuts anyway. This year has given me more reason.

@Lali1  Any chance of going to a curly hair specialist where you live?  They often know how to cut curls in a way that enhances them.  I would be tempted if there were any in my area even though mine is mostly perm but I also wouldn't want to lose my current stylist because she knows how to give me a perm.

Generally, with longer hair, you need some layers to avoid the dreaded triangle hair.  I kinda have triangle hair right now if I don't tease the roots and really scrunch up when I'm diffusing because all the perm has grown out of mine except what's left on the ends.  I use Tweak'd Restore treatment oil which is more paste-like than oil as a finishing cream which helps somewhat with frizz as well as Matrix Raw Frizz Control Styling spray.  But, I have quite thin and fine hair which is totally different than yours.

I found one I consired going to. I keep hearing a lot of people say it isn't really worth it.  She's quite expensive and I really love my stylist. I maybe go sometime but I'm not ready to quit on my girl.

@ECBG You're beautiful, Your hair is amazing. Thank you for the tips. I did once try to use a curling iron and found that everyday I was touching this curl and that curl up to the point I was obsessive about it. I decided that was the wrong direction for me.

@Lali1

Thank you.  That curl is the product of all the items I use.  When styling every day and not pulling back, the build up of hair spray also holds the curl.

Unlike the girls with a lot of natural wave that can sleep on beach curls every day and look amazing, I have to curl with a 1 inch curling iron for 15 minutes DAILY.

My hair is 3 layers starting at the ear lobe.  It's layered like a wedding cake.  Anyone could do this style with the products to support the curl.Smiley Happy

Thank you so much, @hopi .  Notice that my phone is in front of face LOL.  I am going to look for the product you recommended.  Does it leave your hair crunchy at all?  I am always afraid of yellowing, too.

@Lali1   Thank you so much for the compliment!  If you decide to cut in any layers on top or even more bangs, be sure (I am sure you already know this) to take into consideration, spring back........for lack of a better term. Also someone that can blend it with the long.  You don't want to end up with a mullett. YIKES!  I have always worn bangs and I rarely pull my hair back.....only when I wash my face, sit in the sun, or walk the beach.  I never pull it back and wear it out.  Having layers on top will also give height to your hair which may take getting used to, rather than a flatter look.

OT I have noticed I heart many of your posts.  We seem to have a similar "view" on things. Woman Wink

Me, too.  I am not afraid to go to the hair stylist.  My sister is the one that cuts my hair.  She is a barber/stylist, but no longer has a shop and hasn't for many, many years.  I usually get 2 cuts a year from her.  In between I trim it myself, but getting in and cutting layers, I am chicken.  I can cut the length and my bangs.

I have to pull mine up sometimes. But especially when I walk in the morning. This morning it was 73 and about 1000% humidity, But usually I pull it up because I'm sick of it. I think what I'll ask is for the front to be tapered with some more bangs. I don't wear my bangs as bangs but more fringe to the side just for some face framing.
Oh girl I grew up in the 80's I have had mullets 😂

Oh yes we do don't we. And your profile pic and username we both clearly like dogs too. My username was about my long haired chihuahua I had when I joined. Now they have all gone to RB and we have 3 Frenchies. I bet we would have a lot to talk about in person.

Your hair is beautiful!  Do you have any product in this pictures?

Is your curl natural?

@tends2dogs

My hair always has product in it.  I feed/nurture constantly.  I worked this day, so my hair was sprayed.

The ISO brushable spray is a very soft spray.  My hair moves.

@Lali1   Cut inches off in baby steps. A few very long layers maybe only around your face. From experience, the stylist should be cutting curly hair dry, not wet. Oh, and no thinning shears or razors!!!! Frizzzzzzz!!!
