Your hair looks lovely!  Don't do anything drastic or you might regret it!  I would get a few inches cut off and then see how you like it.  My hair has similar curl after I first wash it.  My hair gets very frizzy, too.  I keep saying I am going to cut it all off but then I know I will regret it.  I haven't had my hair cut or trimmed since the virus started and it needs a good trim.  The picture posted by another poster of a shoulder length cut was lovely.  Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Yep that's how I think. Cut it and I'll regret it but boy would I love to have my hair look neater. I'm forever in a ponytail after wash day. You hair sounds lovely I'd love to see a pic. I finally figured out how to take a pic of the back by myself.

@Lali1  - I love that pic too.  If you're not ready for going that short, why don't you do a longer version of it?  It's a pretty cut!  But it definitely has a few layers - which is good.

I've had one haircut all year. My hair is curly and grey on top and mixed in but my back and sides are still dark blonde. I've been growing out my grey for several years so it's mixed all through but my hair isn't growing out solid grey. Anyway my hair is down mid back past my bra strap. I walk every morning in humidity and my curls are a mess after that. The only day my hair looks nice is wash day. Then again I'm home all the time so no biggie.

I'm thinking about a shorter cut but I do love my long ringlets. I don't know what to do. I cut it early 2019 before I broke my arm and that was a good thing because my husband had to do my hair for a while. I liked it but at the time I didn't know how to style it to get the most of my curls. I know more now what my hair likes and needs. Any advice? I'm talking about no shorter than shoulder length.
ETA a pic. This was today after a wash but not enough gel and running around in the yard. It looks fuzzy. Not all I will diffuse some between air drying which I didn't get a chance to do today.

I would love to have your hair!!!

Thank you 😊

Thank you for your advice. I have to do layers because my current layers are chin length. It's hard to tell in the pic but I got a shag like cut last time. I go from cut it all off to just a trim. Which is why I haven't made an appt.

First off, @Lali1 , I would think long and hard about cutting that beautiful hair of yours!  You have very thick hair and it is lovely.  I can relate as far as length and curls.  I could post a pic if you want.  Mine is similar.  Do you have bangs? I have layers because on the top of my head, the hair is straight.  The rest is curly.  I have long layers that blend.  I also have bangs. I haven't had a hair cut since January and I need of a good trim.  I stopped coloring a couple years ago and have never looked back.  It is funny, my DH likes straight hair too, but oh well, I like a dark mustache and beard on a guy and his is white LOL. Woman Tongue  What are you going to do about this aging thing anyway?  The short do that was posted was cute, but I always have to remember, that most of these pictures are of young girls.  They can look different on an older woman.  I am not sure of your age, but I am 67.  I know that some cringe at long hair on "older" women, but being an older woman, I have learned not to care what others think is right or wrong about hair, clothes, and so on.  I like mine long and so does my DH.  That is all that matters to me.

Oh, I spend most of the year in hot, humid tropical heat.  I know about frizz.  I just use a little product to tame the frizz and go on about my day.  Let me know if you want a pic of mine showing the layers........which are extremely grown out right now.

Yes I would love to see a pic of your hair. I have tiny bangs. I cut a few the other day but I don't wear them as bangs.

The first two were July, the 3rd in April, and the 4th in March just before the big "lock down". I had straightened it.  I haven't been doing much of that the last 7 months.

Let us know what you decide to do.  I would bet anything your DH is saying, "Don't cut it!"  That is what mine says.  Thank God, men don't see split ends or wrinkles.  (or they are too smart to mention them Woman Wink )

Re: Hair and haircuts

[ Edited ]

@Lali1

I think our hair is similar but yours is thicker.  I have a lot of fine hair but it's thick.  My curl is near the scalp, so I keep a perm in it and I have highlights.

I wash and condition it (buy good products like Paula's Choice, Aveda or ISO to name a few.  I have been cautioned about drugstore brands.  Even the same brands sold in salons aren't the same formulas sold in drug stores, according to stylists.

After wrapping my hair in a towel for a minute, I  detangle with   Brilliant (which also protects from heat) and use a wide tooth comb.

I put a p of Wen conditioner on the top of my hair, and a dollip from the scalp out through the ends.

Next comes a medium pump of Se*y Hair Gel to hold the curls up from the weight.

Then I dry with the diffuser on bending over.

I use a 1 inch curling iron to guide the curl and smooth out the hair shaft, and comb out with my hands.

I use an ISO brush out hair spray.  I have minimal breakage and my hair is very healthy.

Your hair is beautiful!  Do you have any product in this pictures?

Is your curl natural?

Thank you!  No product, @ECBG .  I shampoo and condition with Giovanni Tea Tree as a suggestion from @Sugipine .  I rotate with Maison 276, a 3 piece set sold on QVC.

Your hair is beautiful, @ECBG .  I have to say since following your weight loss journey, you are radiating joy and beauty!
