My Hair is breaking somewhat at the part. Does anyone else have this happening? Do you know what I can do about it? There are little hairs standing straight up and it looks silly!

Someone told me that it was due to wearing hair up in a clip. I do this around the house most everyday.

Can that really be the reason? I didnt think it was due to the breaking is around the part.

change your part; use less plastic and metal in your hair-try ribbons, soft scrunchies and always use pick or wet brush only when combing after shampoo and conditioner.

What kind of hairbrush? Review your hair care and consider supplements for hair skin and nails.

Even prenatal gummies can help, but read labels first.

My own hair is on a mission to grow to my hips; it's more than 1/2way, down to the bottom of my bra strap in back. I dont use anything metal or plastic in my hair and only gentle braiding when working around the house.

I do take a supplement that works for me:Vivisacal-no drugs or hormones since I'm a breast cancer survivor. hth

Maybe the clips are pulling your hair out and it is regrowrh that your see sticking up.I think you need to find a different way to keep your hair back that won’t pull.Is your hair heavy?

@CherryHugs- I don't have an answer on why your hair is breaking, but I was going to suggest changing your part.  The shorter hairs will give you volume at the top when changing your part.

@CherryHugs  DD had breakage on the top of her head & her stylist asked if she wears her sunglasses or reg. glasses on the top of her head. Sure enough, she does....evidently a common cause to pull hair out/break it off from the nose pieces grabbing it. She no longer does that & after passing along that info to me, I stopped putting my glasses on my head, as well.

@CherryHugs As others have stated it very well could be hair clips causing the breakage.  Also take your comb and brush into consideration.  These seemingly harmless tools can sometimes be culprits related to hair breakage.  If you aren't using one already try a soft bristle brush and a comb with rounded teeth (and by all means a wide tooth comb for use on wet hair).  Then of course your hair care products cannot be ignored.  You may be aided by using products designed for fragile/breaking hair.  These products can sometimes be a bit richer and creamier than what you normally use, but the added moisture helps the hair strands regain and retain elasticity, thus less susceptible to breaking.  Nick Chavez's Mesquite line of products fall nto the category of hair care products I'm referring to.

Headbands, clips, pony tails. I did all of this for years and I've been paying the price for several years now.  I will never have the nice hair I used to.  :-(

@RainyDayGal- Has your hair not grown back/recovered with time?

Sadly, no.  My hair is noticeably thin at the temples (strategic bang placement and Great Hair Day powder are required), and thinner all over. I can't make any kind of a pony tail at all now.  I gave up blow drying over 2 years ago hoping that would help, it did not.

@CherryHugs  I don't wear any clips or headbands and I have shorter hairs the stick up in my crown area too.  I have to smooth them down with hairspray.  My hair looks healthy, so I have no idea what is causing the breakage.
