Hack for Oily Skin

Just thought I would share my hack for oily skin. I have had it for 40+ years. I tried all kinds of "oily skin treatments" to try to control the shine that would develop shortly after I finished applying my make up. The best thing I have found after all my experimentation are two products I recently bought from Laura Geller. I tried her Spackle Mattifying Primer and the Matte Maker powder: First, I apply the mattifying primer, and then the matte maker powder. Then I apply my foundation, followed by Bare Minerals Perfecting Veil & a gel blush. My last step is another application of the matte maker powder. I am very pleased with the results. I re-apply the matte maker powder two or three times during the day as needed and my complexion has a "dewy" look rather than an "oily" or "shiny" appearance. I know it seems like a lot of steps, but I feel it is worth it to reduce the oily shine I have battled for so long. Do you have a regimen that controls your oily complexion?

Being reminded a couple of years ago that "like dissolves like" made all the difference for me. Using products intended to dry up the oil actually encourage more oil production. What that all meant was that I began using a cleansing oil at night and within a very short time my skin normalized. I can now choose if I want to use a moist or powdered foundation. If I do use moist, I set it with a dusting of powder. I don't get the oil breakthrough like I used to.

I am 65 and still have very oily skin. I don't try to fight it anymore. Nothing I have ever tried keeps it oil free except for Milk of Magnesia. It works but did not know if it was bad it was for the skin.
