Don't shoot me, but reading this forum, some gals have more skincare and/or makeup than can ever be used up. 

Believe me, I have my fair share of products, home and office,  but not as much as what I read here.

What are really your core products and what ends up getting tossed by the end of the year?

I wear a moisturizer, a bit (and I do mean a little bit) of foundation, maybe some concealer and some blush. I don't wear mascara very often and don't even own a lipstick. I guess I feel less is more plus in summer in Phoenix it's so hot what's the use. It just sweats off anyway. I have one cosmetic bag of stuff and that's it.

I have plenty of makeup and skincare, but not too much to get tossed at the end of the year.  The only thing I toss is mascara after is dries out.

I used to try out a lot of products hoping to find what worked best for me . Now it's AM ,PM moisture cream . I figure if they truly work I shouldn't need all the other ad on's .

Minimal makeup,also , unless going somewhere fancy .

I think serums are the workhorse of skin care. I have several that I use and I sometimes wonder if one doesn't negate another. I have no idea. 

I have a problem saving things. "I might need that some time."  And back in the drawer it goes, most likely never being used and too old now to even take a chance using it.

For skincare, I have a bottle of moisturizer and a moisturizing spray that I use under it, as well as to set my makeup. If cleanser is considered "skincare" I have a bottle of Cetaphil for that. I have one backup for each in my closet. I do have more than one backup for the spray, because I use more of it.

Makeup is a different story, though. While I do not have nearly as much as many here, I for sure have more than I "need"!

The only thing I toss on a "schedule" is mascara.

I alternate among my eyeshadows and moisturizers, so nothing gets tossed unless it expires and is no good or it doesn't work for me.  Examples: I tossed an ELF color corrector and lip gloss that I didn't like. A moisturizer was  close to expiration and started pilling.  Otherwise, I use everything.

I don't buy and try as much as some,  but I do more than others!  I love choices and have about 5 moisturizers that I'm using,  some oils,  skin pads,  about 4 cleansers/exfoliators, etc.   I have a lot of blushes, shadows, mascaras, concealers and a gazillion lipsticks/balms.  I have fun with them all.   I am loyal to my Clinique Liquid liner.  I toss nothing at the end of the year if I'm still working through them.

I also share a lot of my stash with my sister,  and send her beauty packages regularly.

Not serums (per se) for me, but ingredients. This may be wrong, but I think just like in baking a cake or in making a dish, or ingesting vitamins & minerals, ingredients in skin care can work in tandem.

So, I have my core - maybe about 5 or 6 things, and every now and then I'll add or try something new.

Same w/ makeup - a core of about 5 things. 

I've been known to toss things for one reason or another.

@Shanus     The "NEW Company" is my downfall!  When I see NEW plastered on a product...I feel compelled to buy it...and that only leads to a drawer full of useless stuff.   di
