I'm a skincare fanatic, but have found products that have worked well for years....mostly SkinCeuticals Vit. CE "F", (have looked/tried less expensive, but just none equal", OBAGI (every few months), Retin A, Kiehl's and DRMTGY for Tinted SPF. I rarely change or add something else.
Makeup is minimal, so a few smaller shadow palettes have replaced the 15 pan ones I used to have piled up, same with lipgloss, lipstick, blushes, etc. I always reached for the same ones, so decluttered and only have have a shocking to most small basket of makeup at home.
At the office, it's eye candy!!! I guess I get my kicks with makeup there, but still don't keep that amount for personal use.

I cut way back on make up during the pandemic. Every morning I apply skincare - Vit C serum and a mositurizer with SPF. The only make up I wear to work since coming back to work in June 2020 is eyeliner, eye brow pencil and lip balm. I do have some BB cream, lip stick and blush that I wear on speical occassions. I also wear massara on speicial occssions but I use DD's (she is a make-up artist and asthetcian so she has tons of make up). I really don't throw anything away, maybe the BB cream after a year of use.

I am not a make up person, never really was. I do have my "core" products that I use farily regularly and I like to alternate. I do keep a small Bare Minerals veil powder and mascara to wear only if I'm going out in the evening. I love Beekman products, I use their Vitamin C serum, soap and mositurizers. I also use Prai neck cream and use their 24 k serums on days that I'm home (to be out of the sun). I like 100% Pure eye cream that I use most days.

I have used the same basic products for a long time, cleanser is Philosophy Purity (using a clarisonic!), Lancome Genifique and Lancome Renergie. Very boring I know! I tried Rodan & Fields for a year or two and have to say I loved the products but tired of the auto delivery system. I seldom wear mascara anymore and gave up on lash extensions, take it or leave it! LOL! I wear the same lipstick and really need to toss most of what is in my drawer. My lips are sensitive and often crack open with new ones.

I was in Sephora yesterday and noticed my NARS Muliple sticks are gone except for a highlighter stick. Online, all shades are crossed out...not available. In those cases, of course I need to find a replacement.
I have purchased Westman Atilier cream blush stick in Petal and although expensive, only a tiny bit is needed and have had the same stick for almost a year.
I tend to "fall in love" with products whether skincare or makeup and stay with what works.

@Desertdi That's why the companies plaster "new and improved" on a product or false claims like fixing necks, wrinkles, sagging and adding volume.
Unfortunately, they know we are suckers for YOUTH....Their campaigns use models in their 20's and that's misleading, too.
Makeup: Each time I used to purchase a new lipstick or blush, it wasn't that much different from what was already in my drawer....20 pink/nude lipsticks and glosses, the same navy or black liners, pink/rose blushes, etc.
I did change to mostly cream makeup about 8 yrs. ago and enjoy that better...if I get more normal and less dry in the humid weather, a bit of setting powder in the T Zone does the trick.
Except for cream shadow sticks, Bobbi Brown has left the building.
. Mr. Lauder has discontinued or ruined the core products. When I was in Sephora, they no longer have it in store and only a scant amount of products online...a bad sign that it's on it's way out. Dept. store counters have gotten smaller, too. It was time after almost 30 yrs. for me to move on.

I only have what I use...my disposable income is used wisely (for me)...I hate throwing anything away so I keep to what works and rarely experiment with products.

I don't throw away makeup except mascara. I guess I'll throw away the iT bronzer that broke into pieces, but that's the only reason. I don't have lots of unused skincare. I sometimes buy and put in my stash for when I have used up what I have in that category. I'll even continue using what I don't care for, like the Mad Hippie serum I bought when I was out of the M Asam one I liked, until it's used up, unless I just really hate it, like the Skinn Dermappeal. I keep thinking I'll use that on my hands and feet, but never do. My shower is really too small to use it on my feet as it would just wash off as soon as I put it on, and no place to sit down.
I use a serum and moisturizer every am/pm, plus retinol and niacinamide pm, except 2X/week when I use Tretinoin. I also use a neck cream.
While I don't wear makeup except on Sundays, when I do I really enjoy playing up the eyes with different shades, sparkles, etc. I have 2 or 3 foundations right now to choose from and 2 ea blushes (2 peachy, 2 rosy, a cream and a powder of each). Not tempted by the other pretty ones I see at least not until I'm getting low on my faves, because invariably they'll get discontinued. Mostly, I collect eyeshadows and eyeliners and they never get thrown out until they don't work anymore.

Guilty as charged!!!!! ![]()
I do have alot, mostly skincare, as I am addicted---I use prob 3 lines per year--I think after a period of time, my skin gets too used to one line, then I switch it up. But still have too much.
The things I toss out most are--
#1 mascara---I have scrawny, short lashes--I end up making a huge mess using mascara, I hardly wear it anymore
#2 --foundation --in the wrong color--I am a warm light, not a medium shade and then
#3-- bronzers/contour powders---tossed every one out--useless for me.
Another thing are those stupid self tanners---can't tell you how many I have tried--everyone makes me smell like dirty feet!!

I may have misunderstood something in your post. But as far as Bobbi Brown shadow sticks available online, I was looking at them just yesterday as I received an email on their new colors. They have 23 colors available and many of them are the older ones that I already have. They also have 7 shades in the new double ended shadow sticks. So are we talking about the same thing here?
Thanks
