HELP with cream shadow sticks!!

Hey ladies! Have any of you had a retractable cream shadow stick break on you? Examples would be the Mally shadow stick or the Laura Mercier caviar shadow stick. When I opened the cap the shadow stick just fell out! Like as if it were detached to the base of the container. Somewhat like if a lipstick were broken. What do you think it the best way to fix this to where it will be attached back to its container so that when I open it it will not fall out?
