My skin has really gotten sensitive over the past couple of years.  Used to use Prinicpal Secret until it too seemed to start burning.   Already tried everything that Paula's Choice makes & nothing is working.   Tried several products of Clinique with not any luck.   Can someone please give me some advice?  I can't use anything with fragrance in it.  Also what is your opinion on jar packaging & not in a tube.   Thanks so much.

@Beachbunny  Exactly what kind of advice are you looking for - a particular kind of product (cleanser, exfoliator, serum, moisturizer) or a complete routine?  As for jar vs. tube packaging, there are certain ingredients in some skincare products that degrade a bit every time they are exposed to air and light.  I've read that these are mainly antioxidants, retinoids, and peptides.  Dipping a finger into a jarred product can also introduce bacteria.  Tubes or or dark/opaque airless pump bottles are the best option.

Hi ~ I just purchased JUVITIS refillable airless jars from "A".  They come in 1 oz and 1.7 oz sizes.  Just like SKINN'S blue collagenesis jars.  No more dipping for me.  The vendors praise their ingredients, but don't seem to care (?)  if the air & light degrades the product after we purchase?  At least that's the way it seams to me.  If we know this is not a good thing, you know they GOTTA KNOW.

Try the Vanicream products. I learned about them on these boards. You can find some of them at Walgreens and Target. I especially like the Gentle Facial Cleanser and Shave Cream. They are "healthy" products, too. Woman Happy You can learn about them here: https://www.psico.com/products/vanicream/

Clinique, Paula's Choice, Neutrogena, and CeraVe are my usual recommendations for sensitive skin. You've tried two already without success, so I'd say try CeraVe, which only offers a cleanser and a moisturizer, and then consider going to a dermatologist to see if there's something else going on.

@Mistic  Thanks so much for recommending these pump jars and where to get them.  I've been looking for something like this to transfer product from a larger jar.  I'm at the tail end of an Skinn Creme Reverse and was going to repurpose that jar, but having something a different color would make things less confusing.  Supersizes can appear to be a good value, but not if the product spoils before you can use it all.

You are most welcome.  I did a search, and these were the best airless refillable jars I could find.  I am reusing my blue SKINN jar now, and it works just fine.  I used a permanent sharpie marker to write on the top of the cap what was in it.  May not be the prettiest of jars, but I want whats in it to stay fresh.  A fancy package is not going to help me look BEAUTIFUL!  LOL

Hello Jean-Louise, Yes I am referring to a complete routine, starting with cleanser, etc.  I can't quite figure out why my skin has a burning sensation after applying a cleanser, etc.  My eyes also  burn when applying a moisturizer to my face.  I don't know if its from the silicones, parabens, etc.

I have very fari, sensitivie skin with a ton of allergies and issues. After years and years of trying all types of products and brands I finally found Dr. Denses on QVC.  I swear by her products. Almost every product is in a jar and not a tube. The integrity of the product remains until the jar is empty. You only need a small amount of the product for application. I saw a difference within a week and it continued to improve. It was such a relief to find a product that worked. My skin has never looked and felt so good. I hope you have the same luck that I did.

@Beachbunny  I don't think silicones would burn or irritate per se.  The biggest complaint about them, to my knowledge, is that they can cause breakouts.  Parabens really aren't the evil ingredient some people make them out to be.  There's really no solid proof about that.  Burning, I think,  would come from something else in the mix or possibly fragrance.  IMO, you should probably go back to basics.  I don't know if you're a minimalist or if you like using multiple products.  If I were in your shoes, I would consider a basic cleanser like Cetaphil and CeraVe moisturizers and eye cream, which are fragrance free, and then cautiously venture out from there, if you want to include other products.  If you exfoliate, use more of an enzyme type like Cure Natural Aqua Gel rather than a grainy, scrubby type.  Good Luck
