My hair is just past my shoulders.  Frizzes very easily.  I've had bangs all my life.  I'm open to just about any style.  Maybe half up/half down?  I thought about going to a hair stylist but my hairdresser that I go to for cut/color doesn't have anything available.

      Then go to another one...lol

I've always thought half up/half down was a good way to do ones hair for a special event.  Then I heard my stylist (when talking  about another client) say it's how you do your hair to clean the house!

If you want an updated nice look for this event and your stylist isn't available, how about seeing if you can get an appointment at Drybar or another similar place where they just wash and dry hair?

For ideas:  Go in and look at wigs on line, copy one off and take it to the hairdresser and say I want this!  No guessing involved, no mistake should be made!! If they can't do it, RUN.

Do whatever you like....most women have a preference in how they like to wear their hair. You should focus on looking nice overall and just being friendly to everyone at the party. The truth is that your hairstyle really doesn’t matter that much. Your warmth and personality matter much more.

I bet she has that covered and just needs hair help.

@ScrapHappy  I like all the styles that Carmie posted.  You can acheive these with a curling iron.

I will be attending my husband's Christmas party in two weeks.  I have no clue on what to do with my hair.  I'm now a stay at home Mom and prior to that an RN.  So, I usually just have my hair up in some type of device and do very little to it.  I have a slight wave to my hair to I will have to blow dry it straight before I do anything to it like rollers or something.  I'm hoping someone can direct me to a very simple styling device,  TIA!  Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I'm a bit nervous about this party.  It's at my husband's new job and I haven't gone to an Christmas party in over 15 years.

@ScrapHappy  Sounds like an important night to you to look your best and be comfortable about your hairdo, too. I’d stay w/ something familiar. Set it on electric rollers/ curling iron, put it up in back which is familiar to you, but the “set” will be dressier. Pull down a few curly pieces around sides and neckline.

Please try all this a few times days before the party. Never wait until the “night of” to try something new. Also try any new makeup looks at the same time.

Enjoy your evening!

Treat yourself the day of the party and have your hair "done" someplace really nice by a pro.  Enjoy the entire day!

Add a hairpiece to your current up-do.   They cost far less than a visit to a stylist.....

Yes, I do this. Adding a hairpiece does it for me. You'd be surprised how easy, inexpensive and how good it looks...and the best part is no one knows you have it on.Woman Wink
