I went on Pinterest this afternoon and a makeup brand called “Maskara” has taken over w/ photos and ads.
There are shadows, compacts for travel, looks, etc. It’s endless and quite annoying! What is this and where did it come from over night?

Think I understand what you are saying.............I have ads following me all the time - Google is placing cookies in our computer and although I've tried to delete - - - - Google popup says they will ,,,,,,,,,try and stop the ad..........but it goes on and on showing up wherever I go. I hope somebody smarter than I can explain it better and help to rid it. So much for Google help!

@dex No Joke. When I went on Pinterest, never before seen, multiple ads for eye shadow and other makeup called “Maskara”. Obviously you can order it from them online, but did not click on it.
Just Googled it...available at Target and Amazon as well. Guess it’s for real.

Most likely comes from any of the countries who have people working 24/7 attempting to hack into computers. That is their job.
Coincidentally, I I have had a lot of pinterest emails in the last 2 days. That has never happened before. I just deleted them.
Close windows, search history and delete it, then do a disk cleanup. It might help.

They are tracker ads. Install Adblock Plus on your computer.

If I look at a product on Amazon it will pop up repeatedly when I'm right in the middle of doing something serious. I accidently landed on a weird wheelchair recently and now that depressing wheelchair follows me everywhere I go.

I think a lot of shopping websites are selling info to google, ie they have some sort of deal where google can put cookies on your computer just by visiting those shopping websites.
Also I think that google is harvesting information from gmail emails and if you are sent an email from a gmail account, that email could contain information that google will use to "personalize" your visits to shopping websites to include ads related to an email. Same with facebook.
I've seen web ads on my computer which I consider creepy for travel to a certain country just because my husband sent me an email mentioning that country since I never mentioned that country or visited any travel website at all. I make sure to clean out the browser history and cache frequently.
And finally Apple has fixed their newer IOS versions so that safari browser cookies aren't lingering even though you've deleted them from your mobil device like an iphone or ipad. Before the last IOS update before last, the browser cookies weren't being cleaned off your mobile devices as they should have been. That existed for more than a year through IOS 10 and 11.

Maskara is a brand that a youtuber has created. She had her own website for selling her products but I guess she has branched out. ( I can't remember her name though) She is a makeup artist.
