In my area, HSN has only recently been broadcasting in HD - just about inside the past month or so ago, shortly after the QVC - HSN collaboration or so it seems.  I never saw that any supposed "filters" were being used  -  just not as nice, clear of an image.

I see this too (in 4dk Yikes!) and it makes me glad that they have the same issues we all do.  When I was growing up we didn't see this on TV or magazines and I knew a lot of girls with self esteem issues trying to look like models, when the models themselves didn't look like that at all.
