I'm going to buy Cerave hydrating cleanser. I believe it's less drying than Cetaphil...I just hope it's thorough.
I know I'm going to have side effects from the pre cancer cream, dr showed me pics, but afterwards I should be ok. My insurance does cover Trentinon, I'll pick that up probably today. Dr agreed we can pass on the biopsies for now, try these other options first...will go from there.
I'll be looking into the laser, and hopefully I'll do well with it...I really don't know anything about it. That is the one treatment dr said not covered by insurance, unfortunately. Thank you all for your encouraging replies and prayers.

@Shanus @Hi! I saw your post about using retina a. Try using good rx. My last refill was .05 and I get the brand it was under 30.00 in my area. Hope this helps!

You really had a lot to absorb! I can certainly have empathy for you. I have had all sorts of severe skin issues my while life. It's very draining!!
I have to go and get MOHS surgery on my scap in a few days and I am very nervous about it. I had a couple biopsies on my face a month or so ago and I am the same as you. I don't heal very well or quickly.
What kind of cream did they prescribe instead of getting a biopsy, if you don't mind my asking?
I really wish you all the best with all of your issues and treatments!!!

Hi @Franklinbell . I use prescription strength Retin A or generic tretinoin .1% and have used it for at least 35 yrs. The large tube lasts a long time, but thanks for the suggestion.

I spent awhile at my derm Tuesday for my full body check...every 6 months. I did have a biopsies on my scalp, forehead, back and several on my legs. It's been routine with my fair skin even using sunscren religiously.
Some of this sun damage is as @SilleeMee said...years of damage a long time ago probably while I was using Coppertone oil and iodine trying to get tan and instead burned to a crisp.

@Shanus Your welcome. Mine last almost a year also. I have been pleased with the results over the years. It is nice to get the brand for such a good price. i put the refill order early because the brand is not normally stocked all the time. When my pharmacists refills the Rx she says....Here's to great skin! She told me she uses it also!!
I tried the Retina-A micro and renova when they launched but i didn't like it as much. Sp I went back to traditional Retina A!
Those pharmacy saving programs are great!

@Franklinbell I'd never post a photo on social media, but I "swear" great skin for being 75. I get compliments and very pleased as well. On Tuesday, my new derm said my skin looks at last 15-20 years younger.
Of course, I credit consistant good skincare and spf (can't stress that enough especially if using Retin A or retinols), a healthy diet and exercise...even a short walk a day.

@AngelPuppy1. One is, 5-fluorourcil (pre cancer cream) , another for dermatitis is, Fluocinonide...another for scalp and the Trent I didn't get yet, so idk. Its on my medical portal, I'll check another time.
