@magicmoodz  Love that cut! I wish I was brave enough to go that short.

Re: Ex qRe: Growing out a short layered pixie cut

Saw a hairdresser, we discussed a plan. She trimmed and neatened up the nape. Did a bunch of minor shaping and blending. So now the top layers look longer than the nape area. Overall, looks pretty good. She suggests let it grow another two months then get another shape up trim. I think I'm headed for a jaw or chin length bob.
Thanks for all of your suggestions and experiences. You gave me a lot of good tips. I never would have thought about using hair accessories to make different looks.

@smoochy  If I were growing it out I would let the top and sides grow and just get the nape trimmed until it gets to the same length.

I currently have the shortest haircut I have had in a very long while. I didn't even think to panick about eventually growing it out.

I think if you have the back cut in an undercut you won't experience that awkward mullet look.

What a nice haircut! I wish I were brave enough to do something dramatic like this.

Love the color. How would you describe it?

Re: Growing out a short layered pixie cut

@smoochy

I've grown out a pixie many times.  My back seems to grow quicker than my sides & top, so I keep getting the back cut & let the rest catch up to grow into a bob.  It has always helped though that I have curly hair so the grow-out has never been too much of a pain.

I can't hide my face in these pics, but I wanted you to see the grow-out.

@SurferWife   first of all you're gorgeous! And what pretty hair. Yeah my cut was just like your shortest one. So I'll be patient and keep getting regular trims on the back. Thanks for showing us your cute styles

@SurferWife   You look fantastic in all three pictures.  I do like the first, pixie, the best.  This is coming from someone who has waist length hair.  😉

Re: Growing out a short layered pixie cut

@SurferWife , if I had naturally curly hair like yours, I think I would love your medium length style.  Don't think I would want to perm it that short, but I could be wrong.  Plus, I have a front cowlick.  Yours is really cute though.

I used to want long hair, but I have finally accepted that's not going to happen.  I still go crazy for long curly hair though.  If I didn't think I would look ridiculous, I'd try a long curly wig.  I also don't have the long neck to pull of long hair.
