I don't know if any of you have shopped at The Cosmetics Company Store. It is found in most outlet malls. They carry Clinique, Estee Lauder, Smashbox, MAC, Bobbie Brown' Becca and other brands. They get overuns, closeouts, etc.  Everything is first quality and in its original packaging. They only carry some products of each line and have limited colors, and everything is final sale unless defective. New stock is constantly arriving  Makeup is usually discounted by 40%.

Anyway they are having a great sale until the 25th where all makeup items are 6 for $60. I bought 12 items today, the most expensive being a Two Faced eyeshadow palette that was originally $54!! At $10 each the price can't be beat.

I used to shop there a lot and bought most of my Bare Minerals there.  However I bet they don't carry the original formula anymore except maybe the foundation.

@turtle52 :  Thanks for your post. Never heard of this store before reading your post and was able to find several locations in the Dallas area. I will definitely be making a visit the next time I'm over there.

@turtle52 - Unfortunately the one closest to us, but still one hour away, closed. It went downhill while we were going there. There was one young (late 20's) SA who was there a long time who was so helpful. When DD was just starting to wear makeup she loved to go there. This SA got colors she thought she would like, and even tried them on her. DD spent a lot of babysitting money there!

This young woman knew the products too. We had so much fun. I appreciated her advice too.

So one of the last times we went down she pulled me aside and said she was not allowed to recommend colors DD could try; she would get in trouble. Shortly after that she left. I have a feeling it had something to do with a new manager. We went back a few times after that, but it wasn't the same. The SA's didn't seem to know that much about the products. Smiley Sad

  1. Beach mom, it's true that the salespeople do not help you with colors. They say that they have not been trained to help in this way. However they are very helpful assisting you to find your items. Besides the attractive displays that are grouped by brand, if you ask for a specific product or color, they can look in their computer to see if it is available in their store. They also have a large stockroom of products that they can search through. I find shopping there to be a positive and exciting experience. I wear mostly Clinique products and have found a lot of my colors and items there.

Re: Great beauty deal

[ Edited ]

@turtle52   Thanks but no thanks for the info, but I avoid those  cosmetic/fragrance stores at the outlet mall.

A little birdie told me the products may be old, stolen off a truck, not the actual product but imported and put in reconizable packaging or discontinued merchandise...like knockoff handbags, etc.

I've seen Bobbi Brown foundations there that have not been available for at least 5 yrs. and perfumes that smelled nothing like in the department store, but looked identical.

I'm sure some products are OK, but I'm not one to take chances. I don't even purchase this type of product at TJ Maxx, Marshall's, etc. I know I've seen high end cosmetics there, but just pass it by.

@turtle52  - That 6 for 60.00 is a really good deal.  I'm tempted to get the Too Faced palette and 5 other items.  Free shipping for 50.00.

Thanks for letting us know about it.

@Shanus   Sorry, but "a little bird" doesn't cut it. If you make allegations like this, you need to document sources.

We have a Cosmetic Company in a nearby outlet and find great bargains on name brands here. Never disappointed.

@zitawins   The "little birdie" was the manager of the store near me. She said SOME products were iffy and that was enough of a souce for me. Of course, you do you.
